I just tried version 0.4. It breaks smart folders.
My Smart Folders inbox, when expanded contains inboxes fro each of my accounts. Each was listed with the name of the account. With 'Extra Folder Columns' enabled the name of each account is missing. This makes the extension useless. for me. It takes away way more than it adds.

Should never have been removed in TB 3.0 - good job! Would it be possible to have the unread mail in bold?
Thanks again.

I did the same fix, it installed, but no results in TB - it's just not functioning. Any hints?

Thanks for a fix for this in TB3 ... I can't believe that the developers left it out.
One recommendation: can the numbers for unread folders be bold too?

Very good solution for a fix to a TB3 silliness!
One recommendation: for a folder that has unread messages, it would be good to see the number in bold too.

some one commented (Dec 6) that the folder Size seemed inaccurate; if it seems inaccurate, compact the mail folder to re-accurate-ize.

This add-in needs to be updated it so it'll work the first time you install it and so you don't have to do any tweaking with it.

Nice to see this functionality again, however the number of read/unread messages do not line up with the corresponding column.

Thanks, Henning Spruth. Described procedure works great. For those who don't know how to make XPI file - just make ZIP file and rename its extension ;-)

Very useful extension, I don't quite understand why this feature was removed to begin with.
I was able to make it work with the production version of 3.0 by downloading the .xpi file, unzipping it, editing the install.rdf file (change the maxVersion in line 14 to 3.0), creating a new XPI, and installing it. Do this at your own risk, of course.

Does not work with Thunderbird 3.0! I don't want to fiddle around in files to have it work. Please update it!
Anyhow, why was this feature deleted from Thunderbird?
It is so basic! I can't understand this!

This version does not work with Thunderbird 3.0 for Max OSX Snow Leopard. It states that the add on is incompatible with Thunderbird 3.0

Good to have this addon to bring back a feature that was taken away in TB3. But, the numbers do not line up correctly in the column closest to the drop down menu. They hug the line. They should be under the column heading, but they are under the drop down menu.

What cannot be understood is why a patch is necessary when the author can make the changes for a clean add-on.
I'm having to come to the Windows section in order to see IF I can change the two lines in the "rdf" file inasmuch as in Linux changes CANNOT be made to the file due to a known issue with tar files.

First I want to thank, for briging back the extra coloums.
But I miss two things.
First: The numbers for the unread messages aren't bold.
Second: I wish to see numbers for closed folders.

It's nice, this try to give us the extra-columns back.
But first, it is an add-on only, I miss this feature as built-in feature, and I'm not able to understand why this feature has been tossed away by the Thunderbird developers.
Secondly, this add-on doeas not bring back the main function of this feature: to show the summary for closed folders. You always have to open all folders of a tree to know how much mail are stored there.

Sorry. My comment from Dec.12 applied to another extension. For this one, I had to edit the .rdf file to change the maximum version number to 3.* for it to install. It worked after that though.

As of December 12, 2009, this extension did notthing adter being installed in Firefox 3.0. Deletions could be be completed without confirmation. Otherwise stated, it does not currently work. I hope it gets fixed.
