Very useful.

Excellent, compact and it gives you just what you need without trying to add too much.
I would give it 5 stars if it would handle the subject line better.

Works nice.
Unfortunately it does not switch the language automatically depending on the person I write to.
e.G. when I press reply on an email (so there's only one person I'm sending the mail to) and I always have been writing mails in german to this person, I'd like the Directory manager to automatically switch to german.

Hi Stef,
an easy trick:
Go to Tools ->Options ->Tab ->Button Config-Editor and, search for extensions.dictionary-switcher.autodetect and set it to FALSE.
After my installation this option was set to TRUE. This forces the add-on to check continously, whether the dictionary language should be switched automatically ... and this cuts the performance!
By setting that option to FALSE the problem disapears.
Good luck!

The dictionary switcher slows down Thunderbird a lot while typing the text of your e-mail. It switches a lot during typing, also when I'm still typing the same language, this switching lasting for several seconds where nothing can been done but waiting which language the program will choose now. So unhappily, because the general idea behind it being smart, I switched off Dictionary Switch!
