My Reviews

SearchWith

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

As it is now, this extension requires too much work from my part. I don't want to organize my search engines as "services" to search by (it is a nice option that should not be removed though).

This extension needs to be simpler: show the list of search engines that I have (organized the same way I organized them next to my URL bar), and let me use it. It shuold only save me the step of having to copy/paste the word in my search bar and then choosing the search engine.

For multi-search engine searches, maybe a cheack button next to each SE and a "go" button would be enough (if possible from a context menu.

Speed Dial

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I'll start by saying that this is a VERY useful extension. If you don't have Fast Dial, definitely take Speed Dial.

That said I won't switch to Speed dial yet. The ability to add groups of dials is very useful, but for me Speed Dial should have always been like a telephone: to access an emergency service you type 911, for information you type 101 etc.

How could that be done here, on FireFox? You would be able to create sub-pages or sub-dials. You could register a page as "1-3", in other words 13. Once the number 1 would be entered in the address bar, a new set of dials would appear below it.

With this system, typing 1 then enter would take you to the page "1" and typing 13 then enter would take you to the page registered as "1-3".

Even if limited to a combination of 3 numbers (like 101 or 911 or 245, etc), you would be able to save a total of 9x9x9 = 729 pages!

P.S: the option "Load in new blank tabs" should be pre-checked" in my opinion. People would get more use out of the program and enjoy it more.

EDIT: Actually, Fast Dial has groups which is REALLY great but they don't combine it with a shortcut for each page.
