Lovely add-on. Does what it says on the tin and doesn't have some issues that Fast Dial 1.90 has on Mac (FF3.0) at least (slow, adverts spill out onto different tabs - have anyone else exerienced this?)

Had several thumbnails that wouldnt render. Common ones like Amazon, Gmail, etc. Fast Dial renders them all, works like it should. This one averages 5 star, Fast Dial 4 star. Go figure!!

Thank you for this extension. Since I use both Opera and Firefox, this was a feature I always wanted to have Firefox too. I tried it some time ago but it didn't live up to my expectations back then. Now it works like a charm!
There are no problems with any other extension so far. Keep up the good work!

I think this is the best add-on for Firefox. Very useful and quick. Better than the one for IE. I would definitely recommend it!

Is it possible to add single key support for the main speed dial page? e.g. when you are on the main speed dial page you can press just 1 for the first dial, 2 for the second, etc. I know you can do this with the ctl and alt keys but when the main screen has focus it makes sense to just press the number associated with the page/dial. Thanks!

xatsmann - I had the same problem, and I think its because I'm using tabmixplus. If you are too then try this:
Open TabMixPlus options, Go to the "Events" section and the "Tab Opening" tab. In the "Load on new tabs" dropdown select "User Location" and in the location box put "chrome://speeddial/content". New tabs now have the speed dial in them.

Made a mistake in my last comment! The only way to get it to work is to set the home page as (chrome://speeddial/content/speeddial.xul) as the use current duplicates your previous tab, your previous tab may not be `speed dial` and something else.

Just loaded it again now that it is compatible with Firefox 3. The add-on conflicts a bit with `Tab Mix Plus` which I can`t live without. The speed dial will open in a new fresh browser tab, but open others and you will only get a blank page. I have found a way around this; either set the home page of `Tab Mix Plus` to (chrome://speeddial/content/speeddial.xul) or better yet, have the speed dial page visible and set home page in `tab mix plus` as `load new tabs in current page`, then all is well :)

In theory, this is a nice extension. In practice, it periodically changes the focus. For example, if I have one FF3 window open, and I select Tools/Add-ons, after a few seconds, it switches focus back to the main FF window. When I disable the extension, this behavior goes away, and when I re-enable the extension, the focus-switching returns.
I'm guessing this happens when the extension goes to copy the current FF window content, so that it can show the preview in the speed-dial window. I'm also guessing that it doesn't do this for everyone, so it may be that it doesn't play well with one of my other extensions.
This happens because a website assigned to Speed Dial is requesting focus through Javascript when it's refreshed.
To solve that, disable the JavaScript in the background browser (Speed Dial options panel, "Advanced" section. "Other" tab).

Fast dial does not allow for tabs so you are limited to one page...only issue is not that i've upgraded to FF3 i can't get speed dial to show up in new tabs...it does show up in new windows but not new tabs and i have it set to show up in blank new tabs under the options so i'm not sure what is wrong...other than that its great.

This Certainly is a good addon. But FastDial already provides everything this does + more.

More customizable tha the original one on Opera, it actually replace most of the time bookmarks for me!!!
And with the last version (0.7.1) it is possible to reorder the groups.
Thank you for this great add-on.

that is just perfect addon...i love it.
but when i upgraded to last version...it switches immediately to the new opened tab...how can i control that?????
You should double check the settings. Go to "Tools > Add-ons", and in the list select Speed Dial, then click on the "Options" button. In this dialog ("Speed Dial Options"), go to the "Controls" section, and you can configure anything there, like "Open in new tab", and "Open in background tab". If this is not what you were looking for, could you provide more details by contacting me directly?

Works great under Windows.
Has some issues under Mac.
I'm not aware of any known issues, but some website that use JavaScript can create problems. The solution for that is to disable JavaScript in the background browser, which can be configure from Speed Dial's settings panel.

Convenient extension. Only problem is, at least in the FF3 RC's, Ctrl+ doesn't work as it should. I'm hoping this gets fixed for the final release of FF3.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.0.8).This is fixed in the new release, which is waiting approval. Firefox 3 is not released yet.

One added control would be nice: I would like to be able to tell Speed Dial when NOT to open in a new tab. I have unchecked every place I can find "new tab" in the prefs, to no avail. Fast Dial does not open a new tab, but it lacks the multiple tab display feature, which is nice for categorizing bookmarks.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.0.8).Just add a bookmark to "chrome://speeddial/content".

This is a really great add-on.
The only problems I have with it it that for some reason Firefox's default shortcuts (ctrl+1-9) aren't replaced in version RC1. In the Linux version, it works fine, since it uses alt+1-9 for tab selecting.
Also, in the Linux version, the address bar isn't selected right after you make a new tab, so you have to select or delete all the text in the address bar to go somewhere else.
Still, great add-on and very useful!
This is solved in the new release, which is awaiting review by the AMO editors. Firefox 3 was still in development, so the new changes broke some features.
