Great addon, but I have one suggestion:
What about put an option in the 'Account Settings' in the section 'Copies & Folders' in 'select on send' called 'default is the Last Used'. Selecting this option will make a copy in the last folder where a copy of Sent mail was made.

My rating would go from 3 - 5 if it worked with Gmail. When it was only accessing our imap accounts, it worked great. It does not override your copies settings so you have to make sure they are set up to work in conjunction with the add-on.
Unfortunately, our company is moving to gmail and it does not seem to work with the labels to folders and the fact that everything is really in all mail. I have tried several different settings and none of them seem to work.

An die bekannten Fehler hatte ich mich ja schon gewöhnt (Kopie in Sent-Ordner obwohl keine Kopie gewählt z.B.), aber wenn's gar nicht tut merke ich, wie sehr es mir fehlt!!!! :-). Ich kann schon kaum noch ohne.

I've used this for a long time, and always thought it worked well and was very useful. Now, for some reason, I find that not only is it asking me where to save the email (which is how I want it), it's also saving a copy in the sent folder as well. Periodically, I have to go through the sent folder, check that I have a copy in the correct folder, then delete the sent folder copy - it creates more work than simply keeping things in the sent folder, or periodically moving the sent copiers to the correct project files.I also find it doesn't always ask where to save the file.I have checked the configuration and can't find anything wrong. To me, the extension is useless
There is no place on the author's site to leave comments, and as you can see, he doesn't bother responding here either. I conclude he isn't interested in improving the add-on, or resolving problems.

I'm giving a good 3 star review, because I don't know that this extension is the problem for sure. I have the following problems:
- Tons of drafts saved with the original "conversation" in Gmail (although not in Thunderbird)
- Missing email, only some of which I have been able to find using the web interface for Gmail.
- Although copy-sent-to-current, a copy is made in the sent items folder anyway (pretty sure this is gmail in action). When I use something other than Thunderbird with this extension, a reply copy is not made to the folder/label of the message being responded to. That means I don't know which messages in the sent items folder I have copied to the corresponding folder/labels and which I have not.
I really had high hopes for this extension. And now, I believe TB3 added the option "place replies in the folder of the message being replied to", making this extension relatively superfluous.

hi gunter! have you given thought to if it would make sense to optionally not send the message with SMTP at all, then effectively you would have an in-folder conversation with no duplicates. this is a scenario with shared imap folders, where subscribed recipients are guaranteed to see the new messages without them arriving from internet.

A very useful add-on! However, since I installed it and after upgrade to TB 3.1.6 I face a problem, but I'm not sure whether the add-on causes the problem. Sometimes the original message is copied to the current folder but the reply itself is deleted. Gone! Even not present in the Trash. The message has been sent, because I get answers from the recipient. Anybody with a similar experience?

I have found that I needed to re-boot both XP and Vista systems after installing this Add-in in Thunderbird 3.1.2. Just restarting (as it asks you to do) caused Thunderbird not to re-start.
It's a great App - one I missed a lot after first upgrading to TB 3.1.2.

Oops, I made a keyboard error in my Indispensable review. The <em:maxVersion> should read 3.1.*

I use this add-on a lot. Will you be able to make it compatible with Thunderbird 3.1.1?

Like toastysquirrel posted some months ago it would be great if we can select different behavior for different types of mails (new, reply, fwd, ...). My preferred method is:
- New mails go to Sent
- Reply mails go to original folder + Sent
- Forward mails go to original folder + Sent
Would be great if I can do that with this addon

Excellent and handy add-on. Does anyone knows an equivalent for Mail.app (OSX)?

Very good, I was looking for this from a while!!! Congratulation.
Few suggestions:
- include an area to type in key words of the folder I'm looking for (some how like "QuickFileMail" add-on do)
- what about a pop-up windows, to select the folder, just after having (click on) sent the email.
Regards

Really excellent Add-on. Can't understand why it's not a standard part of Thunderbird.
@Alkidweller I thought this was a problem too. Actually, it's a feature you can turn off in the Options or look for the checkbox on each reply.

Had to disable. It sends the original along with my reply to the sent folder.

This new version are not working for me.
Place & Folders are completely different from the pictures.
It seems the uninstall function didn't work and I have a buttom. I'll wait for a new version since I used a lot this function.
