Does what it says, and incorporates much needed introduction string options to Thunderbird. I wish it had more header options, like ones that pull the message-Id, (or any other header that's in the view source info), from the message you're responding to, for Newsgroups.

A must-have addon. This feature should be built into Thunderbird.

Overkill for what I needed to do, but worked great. All I wanted was to add a non-breaking space to the end of the attribute line (after the colon) to prevent Outlook from quoting/hiding the entire reply.
Even considering all the hoops you have to jump through to use TB in an Exchange/Outlook environment, it's still worth it....

Would be great if there was an option to choose the timezone in which to display the original message's date (local timezone or sender's timezone). Or maybe even display the date in both timezones. See https://www.reddit.com/r/Thunderbird/comments/shtb34/display_timezone_in_email_reply/

Hello,
first of all, thank you for your great work!
I have a few questions, maybe suggestions:
1) Would it be possible to use the header for replies for a consistent image also for forwarding?
2) The date format shows the days of the week only in English and in abbreviation (3 letters). Many different users in different languages probably have many different desires.
Would it be possible to define the weekdays completely by yourself?
The same would be with the months.
3) For replies I use only one format. Thank you very much for the added drop down menu on reply button, but would it be possible to add a 'toggle on/off' option for it, maybe with a selectable preset format?
Thank you very much!

I really appreciate the functionality of this add-on to close a message on reply or forward. Would give 5 stars except this add-on hasn't been updated to work with TB 91, as of Aug 17, 2021. There doesn't appear to be any way to get to the settings page after the changes that were made in TB 91.

i guess there is a "bug", when you customize reply witth html allowed, it add many blank lines even for a simple table for exemple.
Except that it's a good extension

I love the flexibility offered by this add-on for configuring the reply header. I was happy to find that it is now compatible with Thunderbird 78, thanks a lot for maintaining and porting it!

I'm only using this to close the message window after replying/forwarding, so that's all I can comment on - but it seems to work well.
Thanks to the developer for getting it working with TB78, and adding close on forward.

Worked good until the last version, now it's incompatible.
Now struggling to remove: i removed the addon but Thunder is still quoting the last message used with the addon.

This is a great little tool. But if I use the customized header, it is all displayed in one line, just like it's entered. I haven't found a way to make intentional line breaks. So basically this is a show stopper.
I don't know how the already inserted text does the line breaks, but with text entered by myself, I can't get it to work.

It works quite well for answering but for forwarding messages the adjustments are ignored and it uses always the same header. That would be OK for me but the date format is like this: "Mon, 27 Jul 2020 08:42:00 +0000 " which is 2 hours behind the German summer time. So you always have to add 2 hours to get the correct time. I cannot change this in the adjustments.

Like @Duncan Moore, I am currently only using for a limited use case. I use it to mark messages "read" on reply.
Would it be possible on the next update to add a mark "read on forwarding" option? I generally prefer to keep things "unread" until I perform some sort of action that shows I've dealt with the e-mail.
Thanks in advance and thanks for making such a useful add-on.

Good work. Does what it says on the tin. Congrats to developer taking this on through the Tbird code changes from the original of this add-on.

With Thunderbird 68.4.1 it worked out of the box to give me a header with the basic To, From, CC, Subject and Date fields; that's all I need. It seems to do the job.
