Works for me in Thunderbird 115.6.0 (64-Bit) under Linux. Thank you very much!

Extremely inconsistent behavior. If I select 20 emails that are all nearly identical (monthly reports with one attachment each, in my sent box), and then use this Add-On to "delete" them, it will make duplicates of MOST of them with the attachments deleted. So, I have to go back and figure out which were duplicated and find and delete the ones that still have attachments. Sometimes, I can select 5 emails and it will delete all 5 attachments no problem. Other times, I select any number of emails and it simply does not delete the attachments even though it says it did.
This is on TB 115.6.0 , using an imap gmail account.
I hope this can be fixed because it could potentially be a huge time (and space) saver. It seems to work perfectly when it works at all. The inconsistency is puzzling though and makes it not very helpful.

Works fine for extracting attachments from more than one email at a time.
However, when I detach the attachment it is stored where I directed it to be stored, BUT it does not disappear at the original place (in the mail).
When I delete it afterwards from the mail, I loose the pointer to the attachment in the file system, where I had stored it in the step before. That renders the extractor useless for me.

If an email message is digitaly signed, attachments from these messages are not being extracted and it shows a message that everything went fine, but it did not, no fileas are created, like no action happened.
But I Forward the same message then it works properly, I guess that the signature is not forwarded along the message.
Messages that are not digitaly signed are treated properly, even when a bulk extractions are needed, I tested with over 300 messagess that contain attachments at once, and it went good.
I am using TB 115.5.1 (32-bit).

Useful addon, thank you! But please please please add an option to organize by folders so that I could write something like %subject%/%filename% to me that would save a ton of time when working with bug reports, for example

I have Thunderbird 115.4.1, installed this addon, tested with two messages selected, then right-click and chose save attachments with the addon option added to the right-click menu, it later says the attachments were saved in the selected folder, but there are no ones there, I tested three or four times with the same result, it simply doesn't work or it saves the attachments somewhere, not in the folder I selected.

Module installed 2023-10-21 in Thunderbird 115.3.3
Module is not fully worky. times to times it removes attachments on a single email. If one ask to remove them from a group of emails either it does it on one email only or does not do anything.
I do not understand how it can work for certain users and not for all.
Serious development has to be done to make sure the ONLY tool that exists to remove attachments from email works .
also no explanation about where the attachment goes in case one chooe "extract". Simple explanation is requested. not all users are development expert and langage has to be adapted.
Over all this this module is a great idea...assuming it works.
Thanks

Do people seriously use an add-on that is meant to manipulate their mailbox without having a proper backup?
Thank you for bringing back this essential tool, Stonehead! I am using the add-on to permanently delete attachments from old e-mails. It would be great not to have duplicates afterward, but another plug-in can take care of these. So, thanks again! My mailbox quota on my business account down to 94% again. ;-)

I have been using this extractor for many years- it was great.
However, when I tried using it today (TB v102.11.1), it saves the attachments, but does not delete them from the email. Is there another setting to restore that beneficial action?
Users found this confusing and a lot of attachments were deleted by accident.
Now, deletion is a separate menu item that you can click.

Attachment Extractor having 7430 users, Such a Popular Extension, But I Request you to remove some time for this great extension available for the Beta & Nightly Version too. This will help Mozilla to Development in Thunderbird More Faster, As without this type of Critical Extension we have to be more depend on the stable & not able to use the Beta or Nightly Version.
Extremely Sorry, If i had any mistake.

Simple, straighforward. Also, browsed the code and it seems safe. So thanks to The Stonehead for the plugin!

This is a time saver-and-a-half. My assistant is out for maternity leave and being able to grab up all our invoices at once frees up half an hour at the least. That may not seem like much, but when you work 60+ hours per week, every minute is precious!
Being able to save them with several name options is helpful. I preface them with "Inv_"%date%_%time% to keep them grouped together, but also indexed so nothing overwrites or gets skipped.
I see that folks gave it low ratings because of a hiccup the other week. All I did was hop over to GitHub to let the dev know and voila! It was fixed within a day. And it's free. No complaints here, only accolades and appreciation!

Thunderbird version 102.13.0 (64-bit).
Does not work at all. Right click. Choose the Extract attachments. Nothing happens.
Console says:
messenger is not defined implementation.js:8
A new version with a fix should be online today.

Absolutely the worst, DO NOT USE. Deleted all the attachments on my emails and didn't even successfully download them. Now they are GONE. I didn't even realize this would be a possible outcome of using this terrible attachment.
