I've used this for quite some time, on both XP and Vista, and it works great. I just got Ubuntu 8.10 w/ FF 3.0.5 going. The extension installs OK and shows up. I can restart Firefox with it, etc... But when I install something new, requiring a Firefox restart, it's not turning red and telling me so.
Also, it hasn't found any updates for me yet, but that could just be a matter of time -- it's only been one day, so it may work when an update comes out for something that I've installed (or maybe not).

This works great on my Firefox version 3.0.5 (Win XP) with no problems or conflicts with other extensions and also works on Flock if anyone is curious. It also has the added bonus of being able to restart the browser whether there's an addon to update or not.

Amazing add-on. You don't even have to update your add-ons anymore! No hassle and I don't even have to know if they're upgraded (if you made it install when updates are avaliable).
Used this for months and no bugs as well. Grrrrreat!

Great tool! Helps me a lot in accelerating and automating the regular updating job. And you may keep full control (by means of yours settings) on how much it works on its own. Thanks!

Every time I open Thunderbird after a 24 hour lapse, a window appears asking me if I want to install extension updates. I have to close the window before Thunderbird will open. This is extremely annoying. There is no option in Update Notifier settings which will correct this behavior. When I want to open Thunderbird, I just want to open it, and not be delayed by Update Notifier's "helpful" query.

FF3 has a visual update in the bottom right of your window... granted it might not stay up for long but it does happen

isn't this kinda point less? Does't firefox already tell you when you have extension or theme updates with out you having to click any buttons?

Definitely a Firefox default-worthy extension, but the status bar icon problem needs to be fixed ASAP! Thank you so much for making this. Excellent idea for an extension as it really improves the functionality of FF3 in a dramatic and natural way.

BUT,
there's a little thing thats bothers me about the toolbar option... looking forwrad on the next update, that whenever i uncheck the "display icon when no updates are available" box, hope the icon in the status bar still stays... :)
Hi, thank you for the comment. Unfortunately I was unable to reproduce the issue you're seeing. What operating system are you on and what version of Firefox are you running? I test your use case on both Firefox 2 and 3 and worked like it should. If you're having issues I would suggest posting in the forums rather then here to get the issue resolved. Thanks.

This is such a great extension that it should be included with Firefox and TB right out of the box!
