If you only need one account, the gmail notifier might be an alternative. But for those who have to track more than one, this is simply the best. You can have it show or hide the name of the mail address and, this is the best feature in my opinion, if there is a new mail on an account, it will switch to that account in the bar. So you wont miss a mail and get instant notification. I don't have any problems with it storing passwords, so I don't think it's this extension that causes another user problems. Highly recommended!

This extension is an essential. Whack it on the toolbar, and you have easy access to all of your email accounts.
One tiny niggle I had recently. I had an email account set with the wrong password. Gmail Manager just kept telling me there where no emails in the account, when they where actually piling up. One niggle to look out for.
Otherwise, killer extension. Cheers Todd.

A brilliant add-on, but not as much once FF3 kicked off. It won't store passwords, so you have to type in your password every time you want to log into your gmail account. This also impacts on checking your a/c's for new mail. It could be soo much more, but lacks an update to deal with firefox 3.

First of all, this extension is great on what it does. I have no bad comments about the features and everything else related.
The only trouble, is that recently I found out that the cause of my "Retrying now..." problem with gmail "new version" + Firefox 3 was caused by this extension.
I did many tests to get to this conclusion. Always when it's enabled, I have that message when trying to read some e-mail. If I disable it, all works fine.
I tried other gmail extensions, and this issue won't happen, but I would really appreciate if there was any way of fixing this extension.
This is the best extension ever to gmail. I really miss using it.

I am using FF3.0.1 and I have problem accessing Gmail with the "standard view." The add-on only works with Gmail in the "basic html view".

Hi, thanks for the review. Unfortunately I'm not experiencing the same issue that you're having. Everything with the extension is working like it should on my end. I'm able to access Gmail just fine using the "standard" view.

Excellent addon! Works better than expected, does exactly what I need it to do. Better than gmail-notifier! I don't notice any significant slow-down of FF3.

One of the absolute best add-ons out there - but with the latest update to FF, it won't store passwords and the "okay" button no longer functions when changing preferences. The add-on is fabulous but FF keeps breaking it. :(

This does everything I need to handle multiple gmail accounts (need to make sure you only log into 1 account at a time though - and only set 1 up as default login).
Even for a single gmail account I would recommend this extension.
Would be nice if an extra feature could be added - reset count in status bar to 0 when you click on the icon to go to gmail site.

It slows down a lot firefox 3.01 when I open or close a new window. I think it always did, but I never realized it.

I'm not sure what other extensions you have installed which may be causing this slow down that you're reporting. The extension does nothing special when opening or closing windows and should have no affect on whether Firefox runs slowly. Thanks.
