As always recommended by the Mozilla migration assistant, this extension needs to be compatible with all versions.Surprisingly, it is not for 3.3a3

Your extension has made Thunderbird usable on my 1366x786 laptop display! Thank you!

The oversize header pane in the Thunderbird 3 is totally nonsense. Fortunately, CompactHeader is exactly the cure for this issue. Thanks a lot!

Just what I wanted! Thank you for this - I can now dispense with the oversized, unnecessary middle header bar!

I missed the "Customize..." Option in the context menu, which lets me add the archive button to my liking. Very nice!

I hate the new header in Thunderbird 3. If they really want to make it customizable, then they should allow you to go back to the old header, but you can't. Your only choice is this crappy add-on that has very few options.

The single best add-on for Thunderbird there is. I even registered just to say that. Thank you for returning 1/4 of my screen to me.

Its amazing, just what I needed!!

The first comment is right on. I spent about the same amount of time trying to figure out the flat button option, and re-installed, etc. It would prob hit home completely if that was handled.

I spent 20 minutes puzzling over and re-reinstalling due to the following:
This may sound obvious to non-newbies, but the CompactHeader settings (except for Flat Buttons) ONLY kick in when you press the +/- toggle on some message header to switch to compact mode - otherwise it appears not to work. I suggest you add that to this webpage.
Otherwise, great utility and should be bundled as standard.

This is a great add-on for all those netbook users out there. I was really getting frustrated with the much needed space taken up by a waste of header info. Surely Mozilla should include an option like this as part of a standard distribution?

On my win7 laptop it works great! But on the office machine (OpenSuse 11) it compact the header fields but leave the gray header rectangle of the same size, it is not useful. Hope it will be fixed soon (present in 1.2.4 and 1.3 beta).
Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (1.2.4).Have you installed any non-standard themes on your Linux machine? It is known that e.g. the Noia theme is not compatible with CompactHeader.

I confirm what reporteed from "I_am_a_Landstander", ie by using 1.3.0 beta3 I cannot open mail with attachments. I had to go back to 1.2.4.

Subject says it all: This bug seems to have been disappeared with the release of Thunderbird 3.1.5. Could you please check.

Beta3 prevents attachments from being opened. Stick with the v1.2.4.
Edit: Tested 1.4.0 Beta1. I can confirm this issue is fixed (either by author or tbird update.)
Upgraded rating to 5 stars. Mozilla should have made this a feature.

I didn't need the Tab Header to begin with. It's just unnecessary clutter in an email client.
To make matters worse, whenever I hit CTRL+F (the old, traditional shortcut for FIND), up popped a second header, called "Quick Filters."
Then a *third* header popped up, labeled "Filter Messages By...[pick one]."
I freaked at the wasted space and the CLUTTER. But Compact Header has brought me relief and I can sleep, safe from Freddy the Header Monster. Free at last!

I have been suffering with that HUGE header since 3.0 was released. Excellent job!

Great add-on! I think this should definitely be integated into Thunderbird!

This add-on cannot coexist with Display MUA and Header Tools Extension.
I deleted this add-on and use userChrome.css as follows:

Good work overall, but the Trash and Junk icon sizes in Mac OS are worse now with version 1.2.3, released just to fix such a minor issue.
With version 1.2.2 those icons were a bit larger than the others, now they are too wide and orizontally stretched, much more than the other toolbar icons.
I guess you should leave all icons to their origial size.
