innovative, intuitive, easily an instant favorite. great for troubleshooting if you tend to run firefox with a lot of addons, simply load up a clean profile alongside the current one from the drop down menu on the button, doesn't get any better than that!

Well, something were fixed, at least the profiles are visible in the icon's context menu on PM-25.5. It's nice.
Unfortunately,
1) the Preferences dialog does not show the present values but only "initial" on every dialog opening
2) the previous negative reviews (being awaited for an improvements and consequent rating rising) WERE REMOVED from the review page (but still visible in profile, suck it, liar)

Great add-on. And the new version 1.7.2 works again with FossaMail. Many thanks to the developer Paolo for this great work.

Fantastically wonderful add-on that I have found use for because of sites being broken because of an undiagnosable bug in my profile.
Example: A facebook game does not let me send gifts to a certain player on my normal profile. But on a fresh profile, it does. So I switch to that profile when I feel like playing the game.
This next bit is the limitation: I would like to do the exact same for YouTube (which refuses to let me write or vote on comments with my normal profile). But the inconvenience comes in that only for this profile do I want to open up the window that my normal profile is currently on. That is a setting in the addon. But that would make my other profile, the facebook game profile, a hassle to use. I currently have it go to the home page which I've set to the facebook game's URL.
I'd love to have the best of both worlds by deciding which profiles I want to "continue on this site" or just begin where I left off on that profile.

Profiles let you mix and match accounts and local folders in different combinations. e.g. Suppose you have some e-mail accounts you don't often use - say, high traffic / noise levels. This let's you see where you are and bop back and forth when you need to.
However, sadly, went looking for a place to give feedback / give comments / report bug, but developer website has no such (obvious) link - so have to report here.
Went looking to feed back because although show profile in status bar works fine, turning on show in title bar is showing current folder name instead of current profile. That may be a nice option, but wasn't what I was looking for in selecting that option.
And since I'm here ... would be nice if the status bar option let me choose a position - good per message info on the right of the status bar - might be nice if the profile were listed at the far left instead.

I gave it 4 stars because it is a part-timer- but a handy one at that.
It is true that we can manage profiles manually- but it is kinda clunky. Most of the people who I help with tech aren't hardcore techies and anything to make tech less geeky helps.
One person that I help out kept saying that I put too much stuff on her Palemoon. I started it back up with a bare profile. Although it would be possible to do this manually this way is just plain easier. As soon as she started loading pages blasting her out of her chair with ads and a browser that lost a whole bunch of capabilities she wanted the full setup back and never complained again...

Ottimo ma bisogna risolvere il problema dei link: infatti, cliccando sui link in altri programmi o facendo doppio click su files .html non si apre nessuna tab.

It works perfectly. I really needed to be able to open external links and switch between accounts easier. This should be a default feature in firefox. Thanks for making this add-on. It's extremely useful and I will tell more people ablout it.

This perfectly manages profile switching, almost as seamless as Chrome. It should be built into Firefox, but it's not and thanks to this extension, who cares? I've installed this many times now, perhaps nearly 20 over Linux, Windows and OS X, and it works really well. (problems I experienced with an earlier version have gone; this current review is based on more than a month of daily use of this addon)

This is exactly what firefox is missing to compete with Chrome. It would be awesome if you could make it more like chrome where you could have a toolbar button or a picture to select to change profiles :)

Works great but would it be possible to actually preload the profile first to make it look almost seamless?
Maybe altering the one window mode then running it hidden until loaded then set it back.
Either way the add-on is great def worth trying if you change profiles a lot.

This addon is minimal yet very functional. One click of your mouse in the File menu allows you to switch a profile.
One nitpick is that you need to go into Open Profile Manager and select a mode in the submenu to create a new profile. It seems they could have a create profile and ask for the mode later, or just link to the profile manager and popup a mode dialog or similar. Menu items seem a little wordy, but it's a minor observation when the actual functionality is solid and once you have profiles up, extremely easy to manage.

This is one of the things i bought Postbox for. Now i can use it on Linu with Thunderbird.
