whatever you do, do not use this at this stage in development. very buggy to the point of being more like a virus than an add-on.

Thx for your comment. Atm it is not supported anymore. Unfortunately I don't have time to work on it again plus I have other projects. Last thing I don't use firefox anymore. I know this is not a reason to maintane it but I don't really have time to work on it. If you want to help, fork the repo and do a pull request. only if you want.

This is exactly what I have been looking for a good time! A big thank you has you!
"It is a shame that the interface is not over worked, but maybe I'll take the time to look at her, although I have never created or modified add - ons, but I as a hobby to modify the interfaces of my software ^^"
Okay for now I'll see what its looks.
if its you are interested do not hesitate to reply a my review!

Thx for the feedback, the problem is that I don't have time to maintain it :/ for now I search for contributors and if you want, please fork it or make pull requests :) it would be very nice. It's open source so don't worry ;).

Just downloaded for FF29. Works except does not show color marks to enabled/disabled/restartless, important feature to restore.
Also the option to select multiple entries by holding the control key should be mentioned on the addon window. (Would be better to allow multiple selections without holding that key and consecutive entries by using the shift key)
Was hoping this addon could keep a list of addons just enabled/disabled in current session if so asked, to be able to revert later, by loading that list on the addon window, without addons that are already disabled for long, kept for diff reasons like when a better app is found etc
Also, while the addon window is open it should be possible to scroll the addon sidebar!
Thanks!

Sry for that, at the moment I don't have time to maintain it, I search for contributors, if you want to fork it, feel free to do it. :)

Seems to be a great Addon, but it still doesn't work with FF22 and above (as stated by author), so no way to test it.
It would be great if it could be updated!
p.s. Are there any alternatives?

Any chance Groups will be added any time soon? This would be a great feature!

Also, consider adding the Compatibility info next to the Add-on version, like so:

Add-on Name vX.X. (Min - Max), where min/max are the compatible Firefox versions reported by the add-on.

This has GREAT potential that could really take off if it gets implemented.

Thank you for this fantastic addon.
But I have few proposals.
1. If I have many addons, part of them disabled and part - not and I want to find some problematic addons, MAD should remember checkmarks after restarting. Moreover, only checkmarks aren't enough - MAD should have numbered markers, i.e. checkmark identifiers (maybe this you meant by addon groups)
2. Is it possible to represent addon lists in two rows (by some option) - I mean two complects of rows?
Thank you

Thank you, it's a real pleasure to use this plugin. Great help for testing problems with extensions.

Wonderful addon. Just what i was looking for.
Though the interface can be better looking, but its just a nit.

After the developer fixed a serious bug this add-on works fine. Thank you to the developer. It is very helpful if you have many add-ons and want to test them. It replaces a very helpful feature of MrTech's Toolkit, which isn't being maintained any more.
I am curious about the planned new features, hopefully something like different profiles which allow to have different sets of add-ons activated with one click.

This function should be built-in Mozilla...
Then can use the Ctrl and Shift multiple selections and continuous selections !!!

Later I found that this is less "Remove many addons'" at the same time...

This is a nice addon, but I keep waiting for the missing feature of saving/restoring the configuration state of all addons.

I have like 50 addons with like 15 disabled, and there is no way to disable most or all addons, and then re-enable the ca. 35 addons that were enabled before.

I have two suggestions which will make this addon much more usable and even indispensable:

1. Show a sign infront of the name of the addon that tells us whether it is a restartless addon or not.
2. Provide an option to enable/disable all Restartless addons. This will make using Restartless addons much easier.
3. Option to create addon groups like PDF addons, Download addons, RSS feed addons, Maintainence addons, Web development addons, and so on

Interesting idea, though I found some bugs. The addon icon does not match the addon name so basically there's no way of knowing for sure if the addon we select to disable is the actual addon. They are all mixed up. On on a mac if that matters.

Like to echo Dennis' request for grouping addons for de/activate. Dev, if you go to Ghacks you'll see they note the same thing. I've looked EVERYWHERE for years for something like what you have. Add the grouping and you'll see your addon take off. Good job so far.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.1-signed.1-signed).

I have thought about it and have talked with an other developer. Its not easy to implement. I have to use a sqlite DB to save such groups and so on. Implement other functionality and and and. So When it comes, it will come with a new main version, but not soon. I will think about this feature.

Hi there,

I haven't had a chance to test this, as I'm not running FF 4 or higher as yet but I was wondering if this will work under 3.6*?

I'd LOVE to find something like this that works well for that series of the browser but am still searching at the moment.

Do you have any potential plans to make it, or your addon update checker, backward compatible? I know that the code difference might make this a formidable task, but it can't hurt to inquire. :-)

At any rate, this looks great and it'll be an essential install when I am ablke to get enough of my 3.6* addons working under FF 6* and up.

Cheers,

NM156

Hi NM 156,

there were plans for supporting FF < 4 and I have tested some sourcechanges but I have killed the plan, cause of many problems with the implementations and dirty coding around it. And lets be honest, FF < 3 its OLD definitely. Mozilla and other Corporations brings more innovations for the web and for us and we should follow it.I know your problem with incompatible addons, I have the same. Thats why I use 3.6.* and FF 4 parallel. But I use FF < 4 very very rarely.

I have 5 (+-2) add-ons that doesnt work under FF 4 and later. But right now I have to accept that unfortunately. I have send mails to the developers of these addons and they said there will be updates but the mail is already a few months onls :(.

So only an advise: you should work with FF > 3 without these addons, searching for alternatives or set the version number higher in the install.rdf file.
http://www.labnol.org/software/old-addons-with-firefox-4/14187/
Or send them mails. At the moment we only can wait for updates. But you should use more safety, more flexibility and more performance instead of old addons. You will be surprised about new addons for FF 4 ;). And I mean you don`t use Internet explorer 6 or? ;) only a joke.

Best regards
ChrisLE

UPDATE:If you would like to use 3.6 instead of 4 you can take a look at MR Tech Toolkit, maybe thats what you are searching for, plus more functions.

Have tried 1.5. Thanks very much for the really improved colour for 'enabled'. Much clearer now. However, after fresh/re- load, the coloured stripes are applied to the wrong extensions (Tools->Add-ons shows that the expected ones are really enabled, disabled, incompatible etc). I suspect that this relates to the new sorting process and perhaps you may be using the unsorted indexes somewhere instead of the sorted ones :). Also (a) on some extensions, mouseover/focus does not activate highlighting (b) I had one Firefox crash but stupidly did not have a report submitted. It might have been useful for you but I only thought of not distracting the FF team with an extension problem. I have now looked at the toolbar button use and behaviour and that seems fine. [Another idea, but lowish priority and definitely not for the addressing correction release, I would think; how about something like shift-click or mouse-drag to tick a whole band of extensions at the same time? Could help to reduce RSI :) ]

Thx for your feedback, plz send me a mail to my mailadress in my AMO account, to share some information about problems and some other things. Thats better about mail instead of this commentfunction.

This is a good start on a solution to a pressing problem. I have a *lot* of extensions, but I don't want to use all of them, all the time. For instance, I use the wonderful Firebug web development debugger tool. Firebug has a number of extensions designed to be used with it. I either want all of them, or none.

Right now I have different profiles customized for different purposes, and the differences are just which set of extensions are loaded.

I would *really* love the ability in a future release to classify extensions into groups, give the groups names, and enable or disable the entire group by name. This would potentially let me consolidate multiple profiles into one, by simply checking what group(s) I wanted active and restarting FF if I needed to change activities.

Hi,
Thx for your feedback.
It is a nice idea, but thats a big change for M.A.D. When it comes, so it will not comes in the near future and only for a new mainversion like 2.0. Why? Its only a feature request from one guy. When this feature is desired by several people, than I will leave a thought on it. But now I have only make a note of my todo list with a low priority, sry.

MAD button refuses to stay moved. It will always return between the location bar and search bar after a restart of Fx.It also breaks the stop/reload combination button. This button is placed where the MAD button is. It should be at the end of the location bar.Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:7.0a1) Gecko/20110624 Firefox/7.0a1 - Build ID: 20110624082701*** UPDATE ***I am trying to move the MAD button to my bookmarks toolbar where I keep my system stuff. Doing so always returns the button to the location bar after a restart of Fx.Also, I can't seem to remove the MAD button permanently. It returns on a restart of Fx.

Plz test it with a clean profile or deactivate all addons. The second bug you send, I have accepted and will be fixed soon, thx.RegardsChris

UPDATE: The movebug I have accepted and will fixed soon. Have reproduced it with your description. Thx.

great addon. please, keep working on it.

With the v1.1, add-ons are not alphabetically sorted. Please, add this feature.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.1-signed.1-signed).

Hi,

thanks for your feedback. Sorting was planed, but for the first time hard to implement for me. So the feature doesnt exist in this and in the old version. But i will implement it soon.
