Don't use this, the search results are manipulated. You don't get the true results. Avoid.

Avoid this search add on.

As mentioned by cavemonkey, this tool bar filters search results in favour of targeted advertising

Searches results do not return appropriate sites.

Instead, the results prefer advertising and sponsor links.

DO NOT USE THIS SEARCH ADD ON.

Its not what it says on the tin at all. As a test if you go to the google uk search page directly and try a search you'll find it doesn't bring up anywhere near the same results as this. I'm removing this dishonest junk and never touching again.

Many thanks for creating this add-on. It is extremely useful as I use American proxy and need to have access to all the UK URLs.

If you don't want the results to be restricted strictly to UK sources (which would exclude Wikipedia, for example):

1. Edit the "google-uk.xml" file - again, WordPad is your friend;
2. Find the line near the end that starts '<os:Url type="text/html"';
3. In the quoted URL, remove '&meta=cr%3DcountryUK|countryGB'

This will make the search include global results, but delivered from the google.co.uk domain, so that UK results are prioritised.

For a long time, perhaps a year, this add-on worked well, then everything except the search results was in an alphabet that I don't recognise. I would like to report the bug, but the developer hasn't left contact details. Categorize add-on lets me enter a keyword for Google UK followed by a search term in the Firefox Address (or is it called 'Awesome' now) Bar. So I don't need this nearly anonymous add-on and I've removed it.

AVOID!!!

its taken me days to work out why my GOOGLE.co.uk searches were returning JUNK results.... This guy has definitely done some weird coding, so it looks at the advertising and sponsor links... example.. search term "Alpine Stars" its a motorbike clothing company..First result www.dirtbikexpress.co.uk › Motocross Boots .... normal search from google .co.uk First result www.alpinestars.com/

Really good to search UK sites by default. However, does not show suggestions, as mentioned by J1 TDK.
This will be 5 stars if suggestions are shown.

Nice addon, but it DOESN'T show suggestions as written in the description.

well done with this addon, the UK coloured icon is a great addition.

At last!! Searching was a right pain when I just wanted UK specific. Now its not. Cheers Sahand (it also gives you the ...search .com / .uk option on the first display search page which means you can search for .com if you dont find it in the .uk search first time)

This isn't as good as the old Firefox that let you search with Google.co.uk, because it doesn't recognise Wikipedia, for example.
Try it yourself - search for Wikipedia. It doesn't find it.
Knowing it doesn't work with this, makes me wonder what else it isn't finding. Not helpful.

I've been frustratedly using google.com for a while now since Firefox automatically updated itself and no longer has google.co.uk on the search engines list. What a fabulous relief to see that this add-on existed and I can once again use the search engine of my choice. I also love the fact that it chooses "pages from the UK" as default! Even better than it was in the older version of Firefox

Goldentongs, if you want worldwide results, use normal Google, not a U.K. specific Google. I think its unfair you've rated this add-on as only 1 star when you've it wrong. This add on works perfect.

Excellent. I have been frustrated by the change to 3.5 stopping me using google.co.uk as I have for the past.

i thought would simply use google.co.uk but you have also filtered it to automatically search only UK sites, i wanted to use as i am in foreign country and get foreign pages mostly first and just wanted english google search as firefox always goes to local google

shows different results as to when you visit google.co.uk and do a search, are there filters been added to this? when using addon a search i done and it gave 42 results
when i went to google.co.uk i got 3,490 results for the same search

Perfect since ver. 3.5 doesn't allow you to change from .com to .co.uk which was frustrating! Thank you!
