Using TB 6 on Mac OS 10.6.5 I found that after uninstalling TB Conversations all my international Characters (Umlauts, etc.) are displayed wrong. Could anybody please give me a hint how to get this fixed?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.8).

I'm pretty sure this is unrelated to Thunderbird Conversations. Help for Thunderbird is at http://getsatisfaction.com/mozilla_messaging/

Wat een ellendige add-on is dit. na installatie werkt veel anders en kun je niets meer terug vinden. Werkt super vertragend in de dagelijkse werkzaamheden.

I liked the look of this addon and installed it. Initially it did what I expected and hoped but then I hit a problem. For security, I set all messages to initially download only the headers. If I want to go on a read the rest of a message I then click: "Download the rest of the message". However, although the status line states the message has been downloaded, it doesn't display in the tab. I have to close the tab and then reselect the message in order to get the message text displayed.

I reported this as a bug to the author and he replied that he does not and has no plans to support message header only downloads. Consequently this addon has little value for me and I have removed it. Pity!

Hmm, I think you overlooked two arrows (triangles) on top, where you can change folder structure as you like, group by account or by same folders.

I wonder is there a way to sort conversations so newest one comes on top? I used to look my e-mail that way older mail down, new messages on top (it is more logical for me).

It can be sorted in thunderbird window, but i do not see it in conversation window?

Don`t install these addon. After uninstall the addon is gone but the folder structure is NOT the same as before the install. Now you have all inboxes of ALL of your mail accounts an the normal accounts are the the botton (all other folders). So they are not together in any email account!!!!!Really sucks!!!! What can i do now to have the normal folder order after deinstalling this addon???? Hope the coder is reading it here to answer these question!!!!!!

Make it easier? Your sense of easier is strangely distorted. Easier is keeping each mail account separate. Easier is having messages open as I want them, in their own windows.

While the threading idea is nice and potentially useful, forcing it into a tab makes it unusable.

But why does it show me every message in thread 3 or more times?

quite cool...
if turned on header view to full, can see headers only if i open the mail in a new window. is it possible to have an option to see the headers in the pane view too?
regards

I used an older version before and there was a button to choose, if I want the conversation view or the regular.
Seems, that there is no button like this in the new version?

If you are used to gmail style threads, you must install this addon, it also looks great.

No apparent ability to search within message. Ctrl+F does not work. Am I missing something?

do a backup before you try this piece of $*§$%#

it might be a useful extension, but i can't get used to it.
i read in the introduction (the german translation, but i assume, its the same text in the original language (english?)) and was told, that it will restore your original settings when deinstalling.
well, i did uninstall and guess what happened.
i'm stuck with all the settings i do not need and can't change it back to my settings.
my tb is now a useless piece of software because of this extension.
(i installed the extension again to revert the settings, but guess: no way to do it... of course, the author posts some faq here, and i hope, it will help, but why do i have to do the work, he promised to do? that sucks. really! )

Looks great, except:

It's not showing attachments. eg. I've received 3 different e-mails from 3 different people with PDF attachments, and it doesn't list any of the attachments.

I've tried enabling and disabling inline attachments through the TB Conversations setup wizard, but to no avail.

I am using the latest version (2.0.8).

Installed this addon, good tool if you can adapt your way of working, but personnaly I can't get used to it, and then I first disabled it, then I removed it from the add on list.Once removed, it leaves some undesired messages in my inbox, such as a copy of all sent messages, and these sent messages copies keeps coming in my inbox each time I send a new one. Can't get rid of this, and did not find any special uninstall instructions on the author's site to help with that.

I don't like that it groups things erroneously without a way to manually override. And yes, I read the "about threading" wiki; I don't think "well, just tell people to write better emails/update their stuff" attitude by the developer is very useful in most business settings. Maybe in a software company or other tech environment where everyone is under 30. Not so much in the rest of the real world.
Otherwise, it's great. A few tweaks here and there, and it will be incredible. e.g., I wish I could customize the message toolbar, as I can without the extension. I like all my buttons aligned left.

Great extension except for one thing - I would like the ability to turn the functionality on and off *without* needing to disable the extension. This existed in prior versions if I am not mistaken...

This is imho one of the add-ons which helps me in managing my e-mail far more efficient. Although it stil needs some work, because sometimes messages are excluded from a conversation, were the gmail web-interface does differently. Just a matter of time I guess.

Great add-on , but I hope there is an option for user to choose when I reply the mail. The position is start at the start of the whole mail , or in the end of mail.
In GMail , when I click the reply zone , the text will stay at the start of the mail , I hope I can have the same function in Thunderbirds Conversations.

I just noticed that this extension replaces a few other addons that I now no longer need, such as Slideshow and Compact Header. Great!

I find that it's buggy. For example, drafts sometimes show up as having been erroneously sent, which is really frightening when writing a business email.

Also, I don't particularly like the display because I end up with too many scroll bars on the right side. Very cluttered.

Overall, I think this is one worth watching because it could potentially be really awesome. But I don't think it's quite ready yet.
