Like many others here I love Session Manager and can't work/browse effectively over time without it; it's the reason I've stayed with Firefox.

Now that Firefox seems to have disabled the ability for Sessions to work (apparently Session Manager can't be updated to be compatible with Quantum) I'll be looking for an alternative. In the meantime I've switched to Firefox 52 ESR and Session Manager does work with that download.

...shame on Mozilla.

Great extension.
I would not blame the developer of this for it not working in Firefox Quantum.
Unfortunately FF does not allow this to run anymore. Hopefully the developer will update.

I like everyone else who uses this, found out the hard way when we updated to the new version of FF. I cared not one iota about what the new version of FF can do. All I wanted was what it could do before.
I could not even reopen the last session of FF never mind use Session Manager. There was no option for opening the previous session.
I had too many tabs that I needed to have access to for work reasons as well as leisure and studying (self studying electronics) reasons.
I reverted to the previous version of FF. And will not update FF until session manager is again able to be used and it will continue as normal after the update - that is I can carry on using it as if there was no FF update (or sessions can be migrated)

If I need to do things online and worry about security using the older version of FF I will use another browser.

I may also try the waterfox browser .

I've used Session Manager for years and love it! It allows me to save my work and move on to another task with the ability to return to my previous online work.

I will join in and say that I'm seriously considering downgrading Firefox because Session manager was my reason for choosing Firefox as my everyday browser, I have tried some of the "replacements" but they are just not as good, so please, gives us this add on back!

That extension is great, but I've just had to downgrade my Firefox to v56, so I can use it again. I really like the FF Quantum release, but this extension is too important for me, so I'll wait until someone make it compatible with FF v57 (hopefully).

Eccellente ... consente il salvataggio e ripristino di sessioni tematiche.
Mi dispiace non sia compatibile con F57. Spero che si risolva presto questa difficoltà.
Ciao a Tutti

5 stars (THE most useful add-on I've ever found!) until a couple of days ago when Firefox suddenly didn't support it anymore.

I really hope you're able to convince the entire Mozilla development community that it's an absolutely vital thing for *everyone* who has more than one tab/window group that they have to work in as the day goes on.

I'm writing this for all who are not as tech savvy and need help restoring Session Manager after the Quantum update. First, your sessions ARE NEVER DELETED AFTER AN UPDATE. To prove this go to, Menu>Add-ons>Show legacy extensions. Session Manager should still be there but greyed out because it's incompatible with Quantum. Which means the extension and its contents are not deleted. Now to recover your session you need to locate your profile folder by going to Menu>Help>Troubleshooting Information>Application Basics>Profile Folder> Open Folder. Here you should see your profile folder in explorer and a folder named "sessions" click this and all your sessions from Session Manager will be there. The last step is to import this to the new session Manager, but first you need to install it. Find this new manager by going to the greyed out session manager in legacy extensions and clicking "Find a Replacement". The new manager should appear and install this. Finally import your old sessions to the new session manager by clicking on its firefox toolbar icon and going to, Sessions>Import(copy address bar of profiles location and paste to explorer pop-up address bar)>Highlight(with cursor) your Sessions(select as many or little sessions you want)>Open>Import and your Done!

Hopefully this new manager will evolve to the level Session Manager was at but until then it works.

I have been using Session Manager for years but only now with FF57 breaking everything I realize how utterly dependent on it I've become. To me, this is the most essential add-on of them all! I sincerely hope that Mozilla fixes their API asap and that Session Manager will be supported again.

More than useful for me. I have successfully saved and restored all the windows and tabs even when the Firefox browser failed to restore the previous session accordingly. So, it will be very desired to have support on Firefox Quantum for this add-on. Anyway, once I have made the Firefox update I have lost the saved sessions and this is a not so pleasant aspect encountered on Firefox update.

Hi All

FIX FOR LOSS OF SESSION MANAGER

After getting over my rage and frustration with Mozilla for wiping Session Manager I spent a while figuring out is there was any kind of work round. I found one – of sorts – I am working on a mac so I can't speak for Windows users.

First of all you need to load the add on Tab Session manager which does work with FF57. I have to warn you previous users of Session Manager this is a pale imitation of our favourite add on - not least becuase you can't over-write sessions, you have to create a new one and delete the old. I also recommend turning off just about all the preferences - especially auto save which just creates loads of useless sessions and clogs up the view window.

The next step is to find your .sessions files. They are here > library/application support/firefox/profiles/3nstdese.default-1475770629244/sessions. The library folder you need is the hidden one so to access it hold down ctrl+shift then Go menu in the finder.

Anyhow - once you've got it loaded go to the cog > preferences > sessions > import sessions. Beacuse the sessions are in the hidden library folder I copied them into a folder on my desktop and browsed to them from there. You can now import these (shift or cmd click to select multiple sessions) and at least you precious sessions will be back.

Please Michael Kraft – update Sesssion Manager – we all promise to domate!!

57 looks good. but need Sessoin Manager in advance. So revert the vesion to 56. FF guys would support SM developers to make it compatible.
