This is a complete dark theme, all menus, windows, tabs and so on. It gets updated quickly when the UI changes dramatically, like it did with version 60. Really appreciate this add-on.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (12.0.4).

Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad that you appreciate my work and efforts to keep it constantly up to date.

Really dark and not just dark banner. The orange is great.

This theme looks great! Is still a favorite, used several years. I really like the orange highlights with the current update, but would like user control of color.
REQUEST: Ability to change the highlight color.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (12.0.3).

Thanks for your feedback. Concerning your request, I can't implement that directly into my theme (there is not the possibility to add an option panel). To offer customization ability, I would need to create a separate extension and I must confess that I don't know to do it yet, that I don't have enough free time to invest so I could learn how do it and to create it.

Been using this theme for years and have loved it... right up until all the orange highlights got added with the latest update. Orange for unread messages, orange for message warnings, etc. I guess it is time to search through the other dark themes for something else. Thanks for the years of exactly what I wanted, though, much appreciated!

I would have given it five stars except the use of fully saturated orange for new mail and notifications is both inconsistent and jarring. This needs to be changed to some sort of teal or gray. Hopefully an update will fix an otherwise excellent theme.

The best Dark Theme for me. Contrast is awesome and readability is perfect. For me as a developer it's perfect. Nice work!

Very nice dark theme that is not monotone as many other dark themes are. Keep up the good work!

Hi steva! Thank you for this theme (great color scheme). One thing would be nice, make checked but unread mails pop out a bit more... same grey color just bold is not visible enough.

Love it...but halp! the orange unread-messages color in the latest update is hurting my eyeballs!
Thanks

Beautiful dark theme. Excellent contrast and readability. A completely proper dark mode style theme.

If only we could use that dark Thunderbird icon from the About dialog as the Thunderbird for macOS Dock icon...

Update: Thanks for the follow up, Steve! The dark TB Dock icon makes me happy :D

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (12.0.3).

Thank you for your feedback. Concerning the macOS Dock icon, there is a way to use the dark TB logo that I made for the About dialog (that's what I do on my own machine). For that:

1. Go to the macOS "applications" folder;

2. Right-click the "Thunderbird" software icon and select "get info";

3. Download the theme's file and uncompress its content;

4. inside the package, go to the "about" folder (chrome/global/about) and open the "about-logomark.png" with a browser;

5. From your browser, drag and drop the "about-logomark.png" image into the macOS "info" window (that you previously opened) where there is the default Thunderbird icon in the top left corner of the window;

6. If already opened, close Thunderbird, then remove the current Thunderbird shortcut icon in your dock (right-click the icon in the dock and select: "options/remove from dock");

7. Open Thunderbird (the new custom icon should display instead of the default one), right-click the new custom Thunderbird icon, then "options", then "keep in dock";

8. If you want to have the default TB icon back, follow the first 2 steps, then open a png file of the default logo in a browser and finally follow again the number 5, 6 and 7 steps described above.

Beautiful theme! Easy on my light sensitive eyes. After upgrading Thunderbird from 52.9.1 to 60.3.0 also the theme was updated to version to 12.0.3.
Now the DKIM Verifier does not show colored highlighting anymore. ** Please allow DKIM Verifier to change colors!! **

Exactly what I need to use Thunderbird on Mac.

This is exactly what I needed! Now the mail does not burn my eyes in the evenings! Great, thank you!

In order for the message viewing area to also become dark, go to the preferences - display - formatting - colors - select the background color is black, the text color you want and set "override the colors cpecified by the content…" in "always".

Fantastic, thank you!

This is only related to the theme because people will probably do this to match the colors in the message viewing window: For folks using the default color selection to alter the message content to match, make sure you "override content colors" always or you may have very difficult to read light gray text on the dark background.

First off, thank you for this great update for version 60. i felt compelled to write a review and express my thanks after all of the negative feedback while you were working trying to roll this update out. your work is greatly appreciated and i will be submitting my donation. Keep up the great work and don't let all the assholes speak for all of us.

Thank you for your comment and support. I'm conscious that the negative comments/ratings that I received while working on this major update (200 hours of work went into it) are not representative of the majority of my theme's users opinion. But I must confess that I still wonder how people can be so harsh and not understand that creating free themes for Mozilla's product is not my paid job and that I can't work on this on regular base. Should be obvious, but it seems that sometimes frustration is stronger than empathy.

Thanks for the great theme and thanks especially for updating it for TB 60!

Unfortunately there are some issues regarding Enigmail. Since this addon is very common it would be great if TT Deep Dark would support it as well. The most important buttons would be the buttons on the top of the email body that appear when an email has been signed or encrypted. They are not readable in the current version of your theme.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad that you appreciate the new version of my theme.

Concerning third party addons, each addon developer has the possibility to set custom icons set and colors for his/her addon which can be applied when a dark theme is enabled. For that, they can use "[brighttext]" after a CSS selector name and set custom CSS values for dark themes.
So, in few words, it would be much easier if each addon's developer could set custom CSS code, so his/her addon could be readable on dark themes, rather than a theme developer to adapt his/her theme to thousands of addons.
Maybe you can try to contact the Enigmail addon developer and nicely ask if he/she can set custom CSS for his/her extension so it could be readable with dark themes? I know a developer who already did it, by proposing an option panel where you can choose the addon's color scheme (unfortunately, complete themes are not allowed to integrate this kind of feature).

P.S. When facing issues, please, use the support link next to the addon's description instead of the review section. Thank you.
