I'm not an expert, but the documentation is lousy and downloads not dependable - aborts halfway through and says that reported file size is different than actual file size. Well, so what? And why wait until an hour after download starts? Wasted hours of my time.

DownThemAll is one of my main 3 must-have extensions, but 1.0 is bad, it changes some network.http lines and doesnt change them back afterwards. That slows down/stalls some sites for some users. The 0.9.9.10 version is good untill they release a newer version which should be any day now. The official site seems to be the target of a malicious hacker, I tried the site the other day and Norton detected an attempt of Mebroot. This happened before and they supposedly cleaned the site but it came back somehow. Google has the site badware marked. Don't let this stop you from ever using this extension, its great. :)

This is a great add-on. i used to use Download Accelerator Plus(DAP) for downloading but this is better 'cos there are no ads which slow down the download. I would like one change: make the in built pause permanent i.e. even if u shutdown the download can resumed when starting again just like in DAP. if this is there it certainly get full rating. hope this is included soon.

It seems like a great idea but alas it doesn't work for me running FF 2.0.0.13 under Mac OS 10.5.2, and the developer's bug-tracking service gives an error message when trying to submit a big report.... shades of Catch-22.

It's a decent add-on. However, I have found a few things which make me chose the FlashGot add-on over this.
First off, unlike with FlashGot, the links have to be clickable for this to work. Also, I haven't found the select all option working with non-clickable links.
It's good, but it can be improved to compete. For now,:

Seems like it's a good extension, but it just never sticks for me. Between Download Statusbar and Firefox's pretty decent download capabilities DownThemAll! never justifies the extra clicks to use it.

Would be lost without it. It is the first extension I add when I set up a new computer.

I tried others. Simply put - the absolute best it could possibly be. This is one plug-in that should be included in Firefox install standard!! Don't even hesitate to get it.

For the person who downloads day & night to just your average web browser: this is an absolute must have extension.
Not only does it cut downloading time substantially but it makes managing downloads much easier. From custom file names, to full web site mirroring. I can think of only a few days when I've not needed this extension.
For productive uses & also just for fun[as of FF3] this is my abs. fave extension. A must have for every web browser to web & software developer. Honestly I'd like to even see this wrapped in XULRunner & available as a stand alone download. It seriously is just this good!
All I have left to say is: *w00t!*

i downloaded v 1.0, its just like the default dL manager of firefox (the speed doesnt change)..
since u'r all saying that "dont use 1.0", i downloaded 0.9.9.10... when i tried downloading, same speed appears...
how can u say that downloading becomes faster? (seriously, no sarcasm) is it from the shown speed or from some other else?
(sorry noob)
its my first time to use dTa... tnx!

DownThemAll is a great extension... up until version 1.0. Downloads that went 3MB/s (yes, megabytes) in 0.9.10 go 30KB/s in version 1.0. Yes, 100x slower. Although this seems to be largely due to a broken chunks system (1.0 only allows one chunk per file, whereas 0.9.10 allowed 10), that alone could only account for a portion of the speed loss. Furthermore, regular internet browsing became nigh-unusable with 1.0 installed. DownThemAll still gets a 10/10, based on the previous version, but if the problems in 1.0 aren\\\'t fixed, then I\\\'m going to have to lower my rating.

DtA prior to version 1 is a dream firefox Add-On.
I don't know what went on with this version ... but it slows Firefox (with anything more than one tab open) to a halt: DO NOT USE!
Check the FireFox "About:Config" set-up and reset the various offending paramters according to this:

Hope this helps.

I am highly delighted with initial results. i had been trying to download a 600MB file froma secure site all weekend using bare firefox, but it always died after 200-300 MB. With this add on it appeared to download at about double the speed and went through to conclusion. I did have crash in the middle, possibly because I was doing 10 other things.. but this add-on successfully Resumed. Full marks!

After installing 1.0, FireFox seems to wait forever to connect to the internet. I tried disabling it and everything works fine. Earier version don't has such problem. Seems to be caused by new bug in latest version. Don't install this version until the problem is fixed.

it will just give you a headache...use an older version

If you can't get the new version to work, try the latest nightly build which you can find here:
http://bugs.code.downthemall.net/trac/wiki/NightlyBuilds
It also has a link to older builds.

My favorite new add-on. I was glad for the accelerator that worked with RapidShare, but even more excited for the Download them ALL option to dl all links on a page w/o all the endless and repetitive clicking back and forth. I have FF2 and havent experienced any problems. Wish it would resume broken downloads, though.
for anyone experiencing troubles between DtA and RapidShare: you might need to change to 'direct downloading'. if you login to your premium account space, there is an options link button in the middle of the page. direct download is then an option... ie you skip the page where you'd normally pick the server/mirror you want to dl from and you are directed to the actual file. if you don't then yes, you will dl that intermediate webpage and not the file. if you are downloading 100MB PART files you might just need to change the file name. for instance, i have to add the . before rar to make mine valid archives.

Go back to the old version, there newest v1.0 is full of bugs and has become 100% useless to the point of not being able to use it at all.
