The overlay window can be turned off in the options dialog by clicking on "Tools -> KeyScrambler". The detailed instructions are available in the KeyScrambler user manual.

The reason that KeyScrambler notifies of a new version is because there's usually a few weeks delay between the time we submit a new version and when it's made public here. So what you download here may not be the latest available. If you don't want to see the new version notification, you can turn it off in the same options dialog.

On our download page, the download links for KeyScrambler Personal are right at the top. We do have pay versions of KeyScrambler, but we have never pushed them on our users. The pay versions cover applications other than Firefox and our free version is actually more comprehensive than the pay versions of any other keystroke encryption program.

Sorry to rate our own add-on (we didn't rate it any higher than the average). But since this site doesn't show replies to reviews, this is the only way we can make sure everyone knows how to avoid the "annoyances" mentioned in the previous review.
