The developer does not seem interested in doing this thing right. This add-on went through several initial changes before it worked as intended. Now the option named "Darker Selector Bar" can not be turned off.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.3). This user has 3 previous reviews of this add-on.The option 'Darker Select Bar' appears on two options tabs for Folder Pane and Thread Pane. Testing with Thunderbird 3.1.4 & 3.1.6 indicates that both options work correctly and can be turned on and off. Which option does not work correctly for you (Folder Pane or Thread Pane)? Is the problem affected by any of the other options you have selected? Please can you provide more information? (preferably by e-mail to dw-dev@gmx.com).

Would you be interested in creating a similar add-on for coloring the backgrounds, text, etc based on TAGS???? It would really be helpful for those of us who need a good way to make certain tagged emails stand out... and tags (colored text) just doesn't cut it...

Hi had a problem with the global search message function.
after installed the "account colors" extension was impossible to open a message resulted from a global search. thunderbird freezes (after double click on a message in the results window) and a force quit was needed. (thunderbird 3.1.4, account colors 3.3, OS X 10.6.4)

Love this extension! A must have if you have more than one email account and/or use the Unified Folders view.
My only suggestion would be to have a convenient default for some settings. It was confusing when nothing happened after choosing a background color on all my accounts, then to find out I had to mess with the "Color ... Background" checkboxes in the options in order for it to be applied.

I am happy to see it updated. I love this extension. I have noticed that the header background does not get colored when compacted using CompactHeader. Other than that this is a must have extension.

Since I sent some mails with a wrong account in the past because the weren't clearly seperatable, I love this Add-On!
Nice job! Keep working on it! Thank you!

I discovered this today, and with 17 accounts in TB, this makes life SO much easier! I can now easily distinguish accounts, and not worry that I'm sending something from the wrong email address! One thing this seems to strip from the basic TB (I'm using 3.1.3 on a Mac) is account name becoming different color when there are new messages. I keep accounts collapsed unless I'm using that folder, and now when there's new mail, I have to open each mail account to find the new messages. Thank you for considering this, and if I'm missing a check box somewhere, please tell me which one it is, since I think I tried every combination!
Edited to add: Found work around!! I unclicked "color account font" and now the account changes color with new email.

Nice to see it updated. Very useful extension, should be part of TB as standard

The font color now works. The background colors do NOT work. Something is better then nothing.
Hoping the next version will get it right.
Please provide more information about this problem. Which options have you enabled/disabled?

I have tried this addon on former versions of TB. It's just THE addon we needm not to mix up between e-mail accounts.
I'm really looking forward to installing the compatible version to TB 3.1.2
Thanks a lot for the work done!
Version 3.3 works with Thunderbird 3.1.

Very interesting add-on. However, wilth my TB3.0 on Ubuntu 10.04 it is very heavy and my system becomes so slow... It takes more than 2 seconds to close a message window... What a pity!
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.2).This problem is fixed in Version 3.3 which works with Thunderbird 3.1.

brilliant and clear! any chance of an update to make it compatible with the current version of Thunderbird?
It is so easy to give each account a different colour, help reduces confusion if you run several email accounts, and most of all in doing this it is very easily customised.
You can customise the colours to appear in each window or view separately and the fonts as well. Being able to choose exact shades make it easy to configure to your own taste. Since I've been using it, my time spent looking for emails and checking accounts has been reduced. I would recommend this to anyone. it does not interfere with the stablility of thunderbird in any way.

I love this program because I can change the colors of practically anything. Now that I have upgraded to thunderbird 3.1.1 I am sad that I can't use it anymore. My thunderbird looks so dull now! Please come out with a compatible version!

Excellent add-on, the best there is as far as I know at the moment to provide colour-coding on multiple accounts.
All my thanks go to DW-dev.

Awesome and useful addon if you have more that one account and use intelligent folders.
Only one bad design detail. It don't takes the default font system. At least in gnome, more detail (gnome 2.30, font-family: Droid sans, ubuntu 10.04)
Good job

Very nice extension.
Unfortunately it make TB3.1 (Lanikai) hang on opening of a new tab (single message or search result displayed as list).
This problem is fixed in Version 3.3 which works with Thunderbird 3.1.

Didn't do what I hoped it would. : (
Can you possibly morph it into a new app that colours individual folders instead of just individual accounts? That would be a lot more useful for those of us who only have one account, but want to differentiate folders so we can spot them easily. Can you do it?

Looks good, but it's missing the ability to set different backgrounds for different identities under the same account. Changing the text color is great, but seems to me that it would be confusing if you use colored tags.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.2).To create your own collections, you must have a Mozilla Add-ons account.
