Has good content even if it loads more slowly than dictionary.com. I expect to continue using it.

Works great and, despite at least one review, I have seen no pop-ups.

Why would anyone think this wasn't free? This is a great dictionary that DOESN'T COST ANYTHING

clouserw or someone else please make an add-on for www.dictionary.com !! :D
I just found out that Merriam-Webster has some annoying popup advertising T.T (not regular website popups but using the windows "error-like" windows T.T

Very nice dictionary, never heard about it, just found out now while browsing through add-ons for a dictionary.
I usualy always use www.dictionary.com (free), but this M-W add-on will do fine for now as add-on.
I hope closerw (maker of this add-on) can make an add-on for www.dictionary.com (my favourite) !!
Keep up the good work!

I've used M-W for years, and haven't seen any alternative that I preferred. I subtracted a star because there are some words that you have to pay a fee to see, but those words are uncommon. The audio pronunciations are a great addition, too.

I'm confused by the negative ratings. Merriam-Webster is free. I'm just used it on May 9, 2008.

Gave it a one-star because choosing zero is not allowed. Used to be free, not anymore. BAD MOVE!

I give it five stars because it defines words, what more could you ask for from a dictionary? Also MERRIAM-WEBSTER IS STILL FREE. I have been using it all day 4/30/08 with no problems, no asking for money or to register, nothing.

They have to be kidding... this was a great go-to dictionary, but hardly worth $30/year for... there are just too many other options offering free word definition search on the web.
