This is simply awesome. If you know what you want to code and you know how to do it, this extension allows you to integrate the functionality into the UI without hassle. Thanks to toolbar customization, you can place your buttons wherever you like. Transparency works, you can just create a PNG from a screen shot and be done in no time. Creating, editing and deleting buttons using the context menu is intuitive and well integrated (e.g. if you have an error in your code, clicking the entry in the Error Console will take you directly to the code line that triggered the error). In SeaMonkey 2 it works in the browser and MailNews components alike.

Admitted, it might not be too beginner-friendly, but then I don't think it's the extension author's responsibility to make coding easy. If however you know what you're doing, this extension allows you to focus on actual development (creating something that does what you want) instead of having to worry about the UI integration. Without this extension you'd have to write your own, in addition to the actual code, just to have that.

Суперкрутое дополнение.Но я,как и остальные нубы,не могу его использовать на 100%.Я научился только делать кнопки на сайты,на сохраненные HTML файлы и на папки.А хотелось бы еще кнопки на панели надстроек,например.Правда есть готовая кнопка на панели закладок,но этого мало.Просьба автору создать побольше кнопок,если не тяжело.

Very powerful extension. Works as it should -- but in order do code your buttons properly, some knowledge of the JS objects available to the chrome/extension developer is required.

This is a great extension once you get it to work. Would be nice to find some documentation and tipps here instead of having to search in other places. Only 3 stars for this poor service.

No real documentation, and gives useless error-messages when you try to use it.

The link to "many useful custom buttons" (http://custombuttons.phpbbnow.com/viewforum.php?f=1) results in an empty page with "no such forum" on it. Where have the buttons gone to?

Apart from that, rather nice addon.

Thank you for your report about the link.\r\n\r\nI am sorry, the custombuttons.phpbbnow.com site was not on my maintenance.\r\nWhen the site worked, there was many of button\'s developers. They did a lot there.\r\nBut I am unable to pick up all their work by myself. So I can only to correct the extension\'s description.

Подскажите как сделать кнопку - переход по URL?
и еще можно ли сделать что бы открывалось в новой вкладке. Т.е. идея - сделать в панели навигации кнопку по типу кнопок "избранных" в панели закладок.

Great tool. I would love to be able to store my toolbars and right-click menu remotely as an OPML or RSS feed. Needs help dialogs for easy stuff like links and available XUL menus.

This has brilliant potential. I only use one custom button - but use it pretty much every day. It toggles me between direct wireless connection (home), to Proxy server connection at work. One click and its done - Brilliant.

I've just installed v0.0.2.9 and the problem appears to have been rectified. Not only that but a couple of buttons which hadn't worked since v0.0.2a are again functional. I still think extensions ought to be well tested before being released and Custom Buttons2 code ought to be left in Custom Buttons2 but am, once again, happy as the proverbial pig with Custom Buttons. Thank you.

A few months ago, I "upgraded" from the original Custom Buttons, by Yan, to Custom Buttons2. Finding it conflicted with three or four extensions and broke a few buttons, I switched to v0.0.2.6 of this extension. All has been well until an update to v0.0.2.7 caused the Custom Buttons menu to popup on right or shift+right clicks which already had functions assigned. Worse, in some instances , a box, labelled "Custom Buttons", with the menu as sub-menu" was appearing. I switched back to v0.0.2.6.

Reading that v0.0.2.8 had fixed the problem, I installed it and not only has it not fixed the problem but several of my buttons have just disappeared.

I don't know if this results from the developers attempting to incorporate what someone on the Custom Buttons2 forum referred to as a "zoo of code" or they've managed to mess it up on their own but I wish projects that belonged in the Sandbox or, better yet, on the developer's machines were left there until ready for release.

Custom buttons context menu issue will be fixed in next version. I revealed this error, although without your aid, which greatly proved useful.

I think, you could me to help in quest of errors, given at least code of the button in your previous message, but you prefer only criticize.

And you could not read that 0.0.2.8 corrects context menu bug since 0.0.2.8 fixed other bug. Wake attentive.

Or so 0.2.7 says. What a pain. Hope I have a backup somewhere. I really have gotten dependent on my custom \"Close Tab\" button, now this.\r\n

I got 0.2.6 running again. But it may not have been the fault of CB. Had several other extensions claim incompatibility at the same time.
Whew, I was having withdrawal symptoms.
