Great Add-on, asked for this in Netscape and Beta Thunderbird. Glad to see some one take it up, now i can maybe give up Seamonkey. Only gave 4 stars because it is lacking 2 things.
1. Add some sort of preview or thumb nail view so you know for sure your selecting the stationary you like.
2. Some way to read the embedded templates you already have.
Still Great Job

Hallo,
How can I use this stationery in Thunderbird 6.0? Until this version of Thunderbird, it was ok.
Thanks.

Thank you very much for the new version 0.73. It works excellently for me using Thunderbird 5.0.

Hello,
I installed the 5th version on my Linux and I greatly miss Stationery.
I will patiently wait for the addon posting on AMO.
Wish luck to the developer.

Very good addon. but "forward" button looks odd after installing this. Looks better if it is fixed in next update.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.1).It looks OK in default theme, on all platforms. But I can't provide CSS updates for every possible theme.

Is there a bug database for Stationery? I don't necessarily have a bug but I would like to see what is already there before posting something new.

The core functionality works perfectly. However, the GUI has problems. Installing this add-on reduces the number of address lines in the Compose window from four to three, and bloats the Reply and Forward buttons in the CompactHeader toolbar.
Personally, I welcome reducing the number of address lines in the Compose window from four to three. However, bloating two of the CompactHeader toolbar buttons increases the height of the toolbar and looks silly, since all of the other buttons on the toolbar are the correct size.
I have communicated with the developer several times concerning these bugs, but his reply is always that the problems are caused by other add-ons, and that he doesn't have enough time to deal with the problems.
I understand that coding even the simplest project is difficult and takes a lot of time. On the other hand, when you post an add-on for potentially millions of users, it ought to be coded correctly.
With all due respect to the developer, I think that he should either find the time to repair his add-on, or withdraw it.
I can't confirm Your problems with Stationery + CompactHeader extension. I specifically tested this pair of extensions, because there was some problems. Now in version 0.6.1 of Stationery and 1.2.4 of Compact Headers all works fine.
Your problems with Gui may be related to yet another extension getting in way...
You say:
"I understand that coding even the simplest project is difficult and takes a lot of time. On the other hand, when you post an add-on for potentially millions of users, it ought to be coded correctly."
No. Coding does not take much. Most time is consumed by searching errors, especially errors related to many installed extensions and themes cooperation. So many times one change in some extension break my Stationery... Sometimes my changes break other extensions... And in worst cases there are errors and can't reproduce on my installations... Debugging such cases takes a lot of time.

I'd like to correct my negative judgement from the other day:
Stationery 0.6.1 is working on my Mac-OSX 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard, intel) within my Thunderbird 3.1.6.
From Arivald's kindly answer on my alleged failure indication I learned how to use it - and how to create my own stationery/templates.
Because this might be useful to others interested in using and costomizing some existing stationery in TB - or creating there own ones - I report some passages of his reply:
The problem is related to fact that Stationery uses only HMTL files as templates. Currently there is no support for loading templates from Templates folder.
You can use HTML Source view (best when having installed Stationary add-on) to create HMTL file.
Required steps:
Make template in TB.
Switch to HTML source page (view), select all text and copy it to clipboard.
Open TextEdit or any other text editor (but NOT text processor like MS Word!), Paste from clipboard, and save file with "html" extension.
Now You can load this newly created HTML file in Stationery. E. g. by chosing Create Messages / Answer / Forward and pointing to the folder with the (stationery/template) html file you created (or which one you have from elsewhere, but must be html file). This loads this file in TB.
So you can write your message in it, address it etc. and send it.
Remaining critic is, that this is not described in a way for me intelligble in the short add-on description on this site. A link to a tutorial would be helpful. - Thanks to Arivald!

i find myself having to write a considerable amount of business e-mails on a daily basis. this addon has proven to be exactly what i was looking for. one request: if options would allow the ability to choose specific accounts, a fifth star would have been undoubtedly earned. excellent work!

Stationery is a great add-on for Thunderbird and maximizes the potential for html in email. If you want to make nice illustrated newsletters seamlessly fit into your emails, this is the program to do it with.
Thanks for all your efforts and contributions to Thunderbird and the development of the open-source community. Keep up the great work!

Nice Add-in! I use it daily.
A suggestion for improvement: In the options dialog, add a button to open a HTML page in your favorite editor. And/or introduce the possibility to save and register a TB message as a stationary, making the TB HTML editing the actual editor.

What a looser bellow me (R. Lyons)... He can't even use google LOL
There is a lot of templates to download. Most templates designed for old Outlook Express works great inTB. This extension allows us to use all of this templates!
Anyone who need templates may go to http://www.thundercloud.net/ and download thousands of templates!
Good work, Arivald!

No, no, no, no, no!
If you don't already know who to make stationary templates, you won't find out using this add-on. Controls are opaque and not straightforward.
Not worth the download time.
To create your own collections, you must have a Mozilla Add-ons account.
