used to work great, now you can no longer accept email invitations because the latest thunderbird removed the setting "calendar.google.enableEmailInvitations". I can only hope for an update and while you are at it, please enable email-invitations for google calendars by default. thank you

Four stars because it was so very useful for so long and hopefully can be fixed. A great add-on. Unfortunately, 78.4 seems to have broken it. Everything works great and then, after a time, my Google calendar disappears even if it's enabled and when you try to add a task, the program freezes. If you reinstall your Google calendar, it works again but eventually disappears.

Effectively broken since TB 78. Like many others I can no longer create calendar invitations or respond to invitations that I receive. We tried a few things and nothing seems to fix it.
@Developer: Is there a way the community can support you? If this add-on does not work our whole team is, it seems, forced to migrate away from Thunderbird.

Have the same issue as Gergely below. Namely: Worked well for me so far until the TB update to v78. At this point I had to update the add-on as well and it works to some extent again, but I found it very annoying, that I have to unhide all google calendars each time I start Calendars in TB. For some reasons it is automatically hidden at each startup. I am not sure if it is to do with the add-on or the Calendar feature in TB, but please make sure that the calendar viewing preferences are stored at closing TB. Also, when I add a new event, the spinning "thinking" icon starts going and doesn't stop until i switch to full screen calendar and then back to main thunderbird screen again.

Please update it fast to the new version! Using the calender in my job and i super need it. Directly after the new update, i switched back to the old Thunderbird version, but my profile was already incompatible! Thanks Mozilla, so much thanks. Thats super super shitty.
Your Add-On was the best but with the new update it's useless. Sorry for 1 start, at the moment, but i really need the new version.

Unfortunately this remains broken with the latest Thunderbird update, which is a massive problem given that for anyone (like me) using Thunderbird in a business setting the calendar functioning correctly is mission critical. Between Mozilla and the developer of this add on there really needs to be much better co-ordination - this is the precise type of situation that pushes people away from open source software.
For the record, my Google calendar was working fine, then Thunderbird updated. For a while the calendar was still there but 'hidden' and would appear when I clicked to show it. Then it disappeared entirely and a new calendar called "Home" appeared out of nowhere, with no content. Since then I've tried updating through Thunderbird and via the XPI with absolutely no luck. The "Create New Calendar" dialogue just sits at "Please select the calendars and task lists you would like to subscribe to." indefinitely.

one more note on the "reinstall via downloaded xpi file to let it work with latest thunderbird". Yes, download the xpi, and then do NOT simply drag and drop the xpi file into thnderbird addon page- use the menu on the page (install from file) instead - otherwise no luck

Like others, I found that Provider stopped working in v78.4. Removing/reinstalling did nothing for me, nor did trying hide/unhide (especially as my Google calendars then disappeared and I couldn't add them back - just stuck on asking me to select calendars but not showing anything to select).
However, in case it helps anyone else, the Open Google Calendar extension https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/open-google-calendar/ still works, and has been a lifesaver!
I mainly used Provider so I could easily copy/paste and amend entries in Google calendars anyway, and now Google has provided a Duplicate function (which also works in Open Google Calendar) not having Provider isn't such a great loss. I'd still like to be able to use Ctrl c and Ctrl v for Google calendar entries though!

Like others, everything was fine until TB 78. Now the only way I can see my calendars is too hide and unhide them each time I launch TB. Please fix

New bug with 78.4
keep sending me recalls that I can't postpone nor desactivate
I had to suppress my google agenda, and to re-instal it. Nothing lost. Had to wait for synchronization.

Hello, calendar OK, great!
For the invitation into the configurator, when i add this value: "calendar.google.enableEmailInvitations", the mail address appears in the propreties of aganda, great! BUT when i close TB 78.4.0 (32bits), this value dissapears from the configurator...please fix this. THANKS!

Works great except for one thing, when it syncs to my android phone, the calendar heading / title cannot be seen. You tap on it, it opens up, there you see it. But not without opening the item.
But thanks...

Like others, everything was fine until TB 78. Now the only way I can see my calendars is too hide and unhide them on a regular basis. I have tried downloading the add-on from the website but the problem persists. Please fix

I have Thunderbird 78.4.0 and last version of the add on.
i have two major bugs to solve.
I cannot invite guest to my scheduled meetings. The event I create with the invitation never saves.
I cannot also accept an invitation received to participate to a planned event by third party. Thunderbird tells me that I haven't writable calendars.

TB 78.4.0
I de-installed and re-installed the add-on from the file and it worked for me as well

Radoslav Krehlik is correct - this does NOT work if you install from the add-on directly within Thunderbird at the moment.
Download and install, restart Thunderbird and it works.
I had to remove my calendars and re-import them.
Not great, but at least it's a work-around
