Mostly very good. Best I've found, but still a bit of a hunt to find what I need in preferences. Sorry to hear about revkaryn's experience - that's a turn-off.

I really liked chatzilla, however, if you have issues with it, you will get the worst tech support ever. They constantly point you to the faqs page, which does almost nothing if you have a question beyond how to get the program started. I attempted to go into their chat room for some help and was met by the two most unhelpful and unfriendly people I've ever met in a chat room. The problem was something they probably could have helped me with, but instead, they chose to tell me I was wasting their time and pointed me back to the faqs. When I told them I had already looked at those and that they were extremely unhelpful, they claimed I insulted them. It's unfortunate because I didn't care much for any of the other chat programs I've tried, and I've been recommending it to people for 3 years. Time to move on to other programs.

I prefer this should be put in xat.com.

Excellent as an IRC client, and a useful add-on. I've had a few minor problems, such as the themes being unusable, and having to go to the tools menu to launch it.

I've tried a few IRC clients and Chatzilla is by far the most user-friendly client, its definitely worth a try.

Really good addon, now you don't have to install mirc anymore, could use some improvements tho.

really great BUT for some reason, constantly pops open at random times (even when I'm surfing other pages). Can't figure it out and I have disabled all "auto-reconnect" options etc. FF 3.5.3, Win7. Hope that it gets fixed in a future version, for now: DISABLED.

ChatZilla is simply brilliant! I'm using it already for quite some time and I never regretted it. Especially the fact that ChatZilla is so easy in use, makes it a great add-on! It's much better than other so called complex IRC-clients. What's also great is that ChatZilla supports Unicode characters! So if you chat in an other language than English, it's very easy to write accents, special characters or even in a different alphabet or character-set. I really enjoy this add-on and I can suggest it to anyone who likes to chat!

Perfect. Best IRC client. Not even desktop clients can beat it.

Five stars. The best IRC client period. Easy to use, the options are easily tweaked, the interface is nothing more the it has to be.

I chat via IRC nearly the whole day and really like this client.
It looks nice and configurating it is quite simple.
By using an add-on to split the browser window, it can also be started in a sidebar.
The only negative thing about it: if you have to restart Firefox (for example if after (de)installing/activating an add-on or if there's a problem while browsing), the client is closed with the browser :(

I absolutely love chatzilla, and stopped using irc apps. I love being able to click on irc links on webpages, and have them open in Firefox. However, chatzilla is broken in the Firefox 3.1 betas, and I hope they come out with a compatible version.

Five stars. The best IRC client period. Easy to use, the options are easily tweaked, the interface is nothing more the it has to be. I'd kill to see this as a stand alone client.

I'd like to increase the font size of the input box for distance / old person reading. Something similar to how I can increase the size of the chat text.

For my rare ICR activity it works perfectly. I actually prefer the standalone version because sometimes I I have to close my browser and ChatZilla dies with it.

Like it a lot. Wish it loads urls into a new tab in firefox when clicked from within chatzilla. Currently it loads the url into your current active tab.

Other people's complaints:
1. Non-standard interface.
False. This ain't AIM, Yahoo!, or MSN. This is IRC.
2. Should have a buddy list.
See above. This isn't AIM.
3. Requires users to learn text commands.
See above.
This is a great IRC client, and I hope that those who can't figure it out stay away. There are enough idiot spammers on IRC without adding the AIM/Yahoo! crowd in.

Works well enough for IRC, wish that AIM / gChat / etc were implemented by default. Then again I'm not sure this is intended to be a primary use client?
