Hello and thank you for this excellent module.

I had to search a little bit how to proceed with the personalized attachments, but now I understood ;-)

I would like to submit two proposals for evolution.
1.) Would it be possible, in a future version of the module, to save the type of data file and its full path, in addition to the information about the attachments?
2.) It would be useful to be able to name the configuration that is saved so that it can be found later and so that several merge models can be kept. Currently, if you save, you overwrite the previous one.
(The ideal would be to be able to link a configuration to the mail template generated by Mailmerge, of course...)

Thank you for your attention and best regards...

MailMerge is improving each time ! However, since last time I used it with personnalized attachments, I moved to MacOS. I can't find the way to give the right path to the files and have it attached to the mails generated

You must select the files manually in the field "Attachments -> File" in the Mail Merge Dialog. Then specify the filename in the field "Attachments -> Attachments". See:

Prior to 9.0.5 the attachment function was much more comfortable. Chosing the individual files is an (for the user) unnessecary additional step...

I agree... This change was (unfortunately) necessary, because of the stricter file access security model for a "Pure" MailExtension.

I created an account just to thank you. This plugin worked flawlessly on my Thunderbird 91.10.0. The CSV option is absolutely brilliant, and the "Send Later" more so.

I would absolutely recommend this plugin for anyone sending the same templated message to more than 2 people, it really is that easy to use!

(My first scenario was 52 people)

Thank you for writing this really useful add-on which I've used for a couple of years now, for a charity. It's made my emails so personalised, it's really effective in getting a response.
Have a nice day. Best Regards.

Extremely useful. I process normal emails via Gmail BUT occasionally need to do a Mailmerge - I find Thunderbird with this add-on is perfect for the purpose.

Once I realised that I had to press [tab] or [Enter] key after adding a variable such as {{email_address}} to the to field I was away! The ability to use the "send later" option and check the outbox before sending to make sure its all OK is superb and reduces errors and red faces. Just right clicking the outbox and choosing "send unsent messages" fire them off so I can run the job and get it ready, then choose the time of my actual mailing activity.

The best and useful add-on, always linked with TB updates!
A hint: any chance to have wildcards for attachment filenames (for example D:\Photos\*.jpg o F:\Docs\Dave20??.pdf)?

Please Help, doesn't work. When i press mail merge it appears error message "invalid recipient address" and i can't go to the windows where i can choose the .csv file. Last May worked perfectly. Thunderbird v. 78.7.1 (64-bit) and mail merge v. 7.3.1

Found this solution: You must hit "Enter" or "Tab" once you have added the variable(s) in the To field.

Excellent extension that works as advertised.

Small improvement would be to allow the use of a single variable in the email field such as {{dest}}. For now it's impossible and you need to use 2 variables so the syntax is accepted by Thunderbird {{name}}<{{email}}> does work. The problem only arises in Windows, single variable use does work in Xubuntu.

Other suggestion: could you please make MailMerge useable from command-line ? I have my CSV ready, template ready, attachements ready, all batch... and then need to set all settings manually in MailMerge GUI... I would love to be able to populate the Outbox automatically in "send later" mode from the command line... just having to check if all is fine.

Opening the right MailMerge template is already possible from the command line using the "thunderbird -mail <id>" option... but massing the few required MailMerge options is missing (source type, source file, attach or none,...) That would be so great ! (Or the ability to record these MailMerge settings in the email template metadata and load it automatically on mail merge?)

Thanks anyway! Really love it !
