I have been using this add-on for several years now and it worked without fail. Recently it stopped working for hosted Google App accounts though because Google changed some field names on their login screens. An update to fix this issue would be great for John Q. Public...
In the meantime, for those of you who are familiar with Javascript or computer programming in general, some of us developers have documented how to fix the problem manually in the forums: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=332634&postdays=0&postorder=asc&postsperpage=15&start=1500

I love it, but since a few days, Gmail asks me to login again when trying to access "Google Apps Gmail" (email accounts that are associated with my domain and manager with Gmail)... annoying !

there is an incompatibility with the current version for firefox2 and hosted gmail accounts (google apps). the dudes at gmail changed the login form and it can not retrieve the emails nor autologin anymore. You should visit the thread of this plugin on the mozilla forum (link on the website of the plugin) and go in the last pages to get the information.
Hints : find the plugin folder of gmail manager and update in the following files every reference to userName & password with Email & Passwd :
- gmServiceGmail.js
- chrome\gmanager\content\utils.js
(for this last one, uncompact the gmanager.jar file (it's a zip archive), modify the file, then zip it back making sure that all three folders are at the root of the archive, then rename in in jar. tada you're all set.
let's hope there's an official update soon.

Very well done. For the sake of improvement, I'll suggest an option to hide the spam count and an option to hide the status bar icon. Thanks for a great extension!

Great extension. I use it for a long long time now and I can't live without it.
But I have some problem with my google apps mail account. Gmail manager doesn't check this account any more. It can't log me in when I click on the icon too.
Is it only my problem?

To Penthane:
Have you tried exporting your gmail manager prefs & then importing them after an update?
My only problem with this add-on is that you cannot re-order the list when you add a new account. Other than that I'd give this 5 stars.

This has been a great addon, but as of May 15, 2008, it has stopped working with all my accounts. There were some remarks by Google recently about how they changed the login procedure for Gmail; this must have affected the plugin.
Likewise it could stand an update for the Firefox 3 betas.

A few days ago my Gmail Manager doesn't work anymore. =// I can put all my accounts there, but i can't see any notifications. The display always shows 0 to me. :(( That is happening just with me? What a pity! Cause i really love that add-on. Is possible fix? *__*

Gmail Manager is the 1st add-on I always add to new installs.
I tried living without it on my laptop with Xubuntu 8.04 with FF3, but Gmail checker just didn't cut it. I followed this procedure to get FF2 back on my system: http://tinyurl.com/65z4hu .
I can also report Gmail manager is no longer working with Google for domains, but otherwise it's the best best best extension ever!

Very handy plugin, I really appreciate it but sometimes it shows 0 email when I actually have several.

Gmail Manager cannot log in in to Google Apps email accounts since yesterday. Every single time (even within the same browser session) I have to manually enter the password.
Regular gmail accounts still work properly.
This is consistent on several PC's, both XP and Vista.

Your Add-on is really good, but is there any chance to have it to work with firefox 3.0? I updated my to version 3 and now I can not use it any more.
Thanks for the really good work.

This is probably the extension I use most in Firefox. I love it!
One little issue though (which I'm sure has been brought up before) - when you use this extension on a Mac, the new email notification floats up the screen quickly (so you can't read it) instead of just displaying at the bottom corner of Firefox.
Does anyone know a way to work around this? Please email me if you know a way.

Excellent, but needs work for ff3/b5.
For me it forgets my login details every time ff 3 b5 is restarted - pain in the ass.

Good Add-on. But evrytime I get an update of this add-on, all my accounts are wiped and the tedious job of adding evry account one by one starts all over again. I have some 40 accounts; can you pls make the next updates so that they keep the account-data from the former version?
