I used the original keyconfig for years and am very pleased to have this new and maintained version on AMO now. So many more Firefox and Thunderbird users can find this helpful tool.
Maybe the developer wants to add this forum http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=72994 to this AMO page. In this forum users get and give help to add own shortcuts.

Now, like Dorando's original Keyconfig extension, this latest version of 'Dorando Keyconfig' allows you to create new keyboard shortcuts and supply and edit your own javascript for them.
You can also remove ('reset') them or change the keyboard combinations they use.
Using it, you can also:
disable or re-enable existing shortcuts (including many of those which you have not yourself created - but not those created by the system, such as, for instance, Ctrl+C for 'Copy' in Windows)
change the keyboard key combinations used by existing shortcuts (including many of those which you have not yourself created - but not those created by the system, such as, for instance, Ctrl+C for 'Copy' in Windows)
define shortcuts to override (replace) many pre-existing shortcuts you have not yourself created, thus changing the effect of those key combinations. You may have to explicitly disable the pre-existing ones to make that work.
When I tested this version (2016.2), IN FIREFOX, I started from the latest version (20110522) of Dorando's own original Keyconfig extension and, carefully following trlkly's advice (see 'About this.." above) replaced it with 'Dorando Keyconfig' 2016.2.
After installation was complete (I had re-started Firefox) all the new shortcuts I had previously created (along with my own javascript) using keyconfig 20110522 were still present, in the same state (active or disabled) and active ones were still working.
Those shortcuts which I had not created but which I had disabled were still disabled.
I was then able to edit my own shortcuts (keys and/or javascript), create and remove my own shortcuts and disable and re-enable shortcuts as expected.
I was also able to disable and re-enable shortcuts I had not created and change their keyboard key combinations (but, as described above, not for those created directly by the operating system).
Like the original, 'Dorando Keyconfig' lists existing keyboard shortcuts and the listing can be sorted by name, key combination or shortcut ID.
It does not fill the error log with "Type error" messages, which the original did.
It does also incorporate Morat's informative colour coding enhancement in the shortcut listing.
Hopefully, as a very welcome publicly listed and AMO-approved extension, 'Dorando Keyconfig' will long continue to provide all the functions which keyconfig 20110522 so helpfully gave us.
Thank you very much, trlkly, for all your efforts to make this new listed version available with all its functions enabled.
