Thank you very much for updating the add-on for Thunderbird > = v78. I was very happy that the missing buttons suddenly appeared again.

Very helpful! But is there a way to get it in TB78+?
Maybe some about:config settings?

Thanks for all the work and time you put into this.

Its sad to hear Mozilla killed once again a great add-on (this time with Tb78), but that is what they do.

I removed all my add-ons over time from AMO too.

Noia4, Classic Theme Restorer, CustomizeMyBird, NewScrollbars, Classic Toolbar Buttons, GlassMyFox and others...

This works really great for messages.

I know that it is switched-off by design for "Blogs and News Feeds" - however, would it be possible to include it? It currently is the only show-stopper. Having plain-text by default renders most RSS unusable.

Great add-on!

Suggestion: would it be possible to keep the html formatting for printing only?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.6).

Absolutely no chance - sorry.

Invoking the print function reloads the message. So the add-on would need an "listener" "behind" this moment. But there is no "listener", which I could use to do this.

This works great. But: unlike the way it's mentioned in the text, it does not revert to the default setting when moving on to the next message. Indeed, instead it changes the default setting to whatever you select via this add-on - you can then easily set it back, however. Tried this with latest version of TBird (60.5.x) on both Mac and Windows. Would be nice if it worked that way, but no stars removed. Thanks for this!!!

Mabe you should read the description on my website:

I have been looking for such an addon for way too long. It provides the perfect combination of additional safety and easy to use options.

Thanks so much!

Vielen Dank!

Very useful, many thanks!

It would be great if in addition to the button you could also use a keystroke, for example the letter "H" to activate the function.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.1).

With the key combination Ctrl + Alt + F5 you call the function of the button (the function depends on the options). Simpler keyboard shortcuts are already used by Thunderbird itself.

Thanks a lot for this add-on. Exactly what I searched for!

One thing is missing. Additionally to the "Show HTML" button it would be nice if there were also a "Show Simple HTML" button. This is, because in most situation where "plain text" ist not sufficient to read a mail, "Simple HTML" does the trick with no need for "Full HTML"

Again: Thanks for this very useful add-on

Simple HTML (And other options) can now be set as button function in the addon options dialog

1. "The button in main tollbar has to be added by customizing the toolbar"
2. "The button in message header pane has to be added by customizing this toolbar."

#1 here above can be added, #2 can not, no View HTML button found in the compose window. Is this a bug? Win 8.1, Thunderbird 45.0

Follow-up: I stand corrected. I mixed up message window with compose window. Sorry, I am very new to Thunderbird (2 weeks). The addon works, but this was either way not what I hoped the addon would do.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.7.4).

There has never been a button in compose window. This addon and its buttons are thought for reading messages - not composing.

Hallo,

So weit - so gut.

it would be fantastic if I could push the button and then forward or print an html-mail as such (upon printing or forwarding thunderbird falls back to text-only).

My default is plain text mails. Because many others often send html mails, this add-on is very useful to view them without changing my default reading style. To load the remote contents, you've still to click on "show remote content", which requires another click on a different location on screen.

Since the merger between Thunderbird and Thunderbird esr (24.2.0) and up I miss the message header button of this add-on, only the other tool bar buttons are available to me yet.

I've been using it for a couple years now, and it always works as expected.I would like to see a feature added to it where it would automatically show emails in html from a particular email address, maybe some a kind of white-listing capability for the few email addresses I would manually add to the white-list.

Although its way of funcion might be a little hard to understand at first by newbies, once taken the learning curve it reveals as utterly useful and practical. Especially the indicator on the status bar that shows which is your default setting and allows you to change it through right click action. Nothing is missed here. Thank you
