Finally! A sticky new mail notifier for the latest version of the Thunderbird. A nice, unobtrusive way to remind you that you have new mail waiting.

Thank you for making such a great add-on. I was just wondering if you had something in mind for doing something similar with the tray icon if a user also has "minimize to tray plus" or a similar extension. Thus, the thunderbird icon in the tray would blink or change in some other way if there was a new message. Thanks again.

Concerning "Minimize to tray plus" addon, I tried to handle it by restoring TB from tray and then making its icon blink in the bar: you have to enable this behavior in the menu. The feature you are requesting would require too much effort for me, I do not know if I will ever consider doing something like that, sorry... ;-)

Hi, thankyou for such a great add-on (brilliant). I am using Windows 7 and was just wondering if there is anyway to change the flashing notifying colour from yellow to blue?? Thank you

Hi Clayton, thank you for using my addon. The icon flashing color depends on the window manager theme, it is not decided by the addon: you should try to change Windows 7 theme in order to get rid of that yellow...

Not compatible with latest version of Thunderbird 3.6.12. Won't install.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2).I cannot understand what kind of TB you may have, since the current latest versions are the 3.3a1pre (development) and the 3.1.6 (stable): I have tried my extension with both of them and I can confirm it is installing and working. Are you perhaps talking about FIREFOX 3.6.12? Of course this addon won't install on it because it has been made for THUNDERBIRD...

Great addon! I especially like the option to set up message filter so only what needs immediate attention causes the icon to flash.

Works very well, but is in conflict with "Minimize to tray Plus" for Windows (my version is XP).
Is it possible, as outlook (yes, it's bad, I know :) ), to indicate it in the tray ?
I had disabled Minimize to tray to make your beautiful option functional

Concerning the tray icon, I will consider that, but I fear I would have to redesign too much this extension code for implementing it...[September 3, 2010 UPDATE]: I tried to add a sort of compatibility with 'MinimizeToTray' addon in New Mail Attention 1.1.9: my addon should restore TB from the tray before alerting the user. It works perfectly on Linux (of course that's my opinion...), but I think the behavior under Windows (I tried it with 7even) may be a little annoying (it may be worth giving it a try anyway).Please let me know if it may fit for you: if you don't like its behavior, you may turn it off by unchecking the menu entry 'Tools --> New Mail Attention --> Restore from tray' (this entry is displayed only if MinimizeToTray addon is installed and enabled).At the moment version 1.1.9 is still awaiting for review by AMO editors but you can download it from this link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/191033/versions/

This extension works perfectly and is less intrusive of the classical Thunderbird notification window.
In Ubuntu is even more nice thanks to the special effects that can be added by Avant Window Navigator.
The new function that checks for incoming news/feeds is also very nice!

PERFECT! I recently had to switch from Windows abruptly due to some security issues, and I can't (yet) get my hands on a Mac so I went with Linux. The lack of a persistent "You have new mail!" indicator was really throwing me off. This does exactly what I need - a subtle method of notifying me of new messages without disappearing in a few seconds or otherwise making a lot of disruption. Thank you!

Fantastic! I was hoping for something like this. Although in Windows 7 it doesn't do anything. What OS was this written for?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1).I finally had a chance to try this addon on Windows (XP and 7even) and it seems to me it's working as expected: which other extension have you installed in TB? Maybe there is some sort of conflict between them...
