Hello,
This is a great addon and I enjoy using it. Sometime ago this addon was able to show the contact images on window when writing an email exactly the same way as shown in the snapshot at top of this addon page. Sadly this is not working anymore on thunderbird 31. Any reason why is that?
Katy
Hi Katy
Thunderbird changed the addressing widget in the compose window which made the add-on fail. Because I did not have any spare time to investigate the issue I had to disable the photos in the compose window as a short "fix".
However, I had some time over the holidays. A new version will be released within the next few days.

This personalizes your emails. It takes a little work so I only use for communications with close family. Note incompatible with Thunderbird conversations.

Thanks for fixing the issue with the Compose window’s To: field. The extension works great!

Version 1.2.6 works perfectly until Thunderbird upgrade to version 31.0 :
Version 1.2.6 makes Thunderbird 31.0 unable to focus the "To" and "Subject" fields in editing mode.

Seems like a well designed extension, but doesn't appear to work with photos from the web - on the Photo tab in the Address Book I've selected 'On the web' and provided a URL. (TB 24.4 on Kubuntu 12.04.)

Love this add-on. Just a heads up, in Earlybird when you try to reply to an email the address box is blank.

It could be great if in the address book view (tab) the height of the photos would not be changed so that it looks like squeezed. There the height is about 60 px or slightly less whilst the wide is about 140 px.
But all in all it's already a really good add on.

Works (with some exceptions) with latest (24) version of Thunderbird. Big thanks for update!

Very good addon.
But not working in "Thunderbird conversations" addon...

I really love this feature. I've added pictures where ever I can. When it's for people that I haven't met, it's even better - it turns email into a much more "human" interaction. I've actually run into someone that was previously a face icon in Thunderbird and knew who they were. I'm surprised this isn't native to Thunderbird yet. But in the meantime (after V25 support) I highly recommend this. Putting a face on people that you email with is something that is very useful psychologically.

An elegant piece of software. Looking forward to TB24 compatibility; meanwhile, I used the following workaround (Win7); YMMV:
1. Copy all images from ...\Profile\Photos\{digits}.jpg to a temporary work folder.
2. Convert all images to PNG and rename to {digits}.jpg.png (can be batched using GIMP or other image-processing program).
3. Copy all .png files into each of the folders ...\Profile\contactPhotoThumbnails\*\ (* = 20, 64, 70, and 100).
4. In each of those folders, scale each image (again, can be batched) to N x N pixels, where N is the lesser of the folder name (20/64/70/100) and the value in "Display Contact Photo Options | General Settings | Maximum size of a photo".
5. Discard work folder.

Great addon, especially when used with the Google Contacts addon.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work with Thunderbird 24.0.1 :-(

Is it easy to implement into the addon ability to show Face, X-Face header? Why nobody cares about these headers?
