I also have this issue with 1.4.4.
downgrading to 1.4.3 seemed to lose my options.
Luckily going back to 1.4.4 restored them.
I have found a workaround to using 1.4.4
if you get a greyed out send button
select an alternative identity
the send button will become active
going back to default identity will not cause greying

Since the new version, the "send" button is grayed out on new messages and the add-on does not work. Disabling the add-on fixes the "send" button. I do have an address in the "to" field.

Same problem as the posters before me: Send button is greyed out; problem is solved by disabling Correct Identity add-on. Please fix this. Tnx!

Hi!
Same issue here.
Some information below, which can be helpful for resolving the problem.
We have a "fake" identity, which has a wrong incoming server address - this is for using a correct public mail address. The outgoing server address is correct, so the mails can go out from it.
The send button is greyed out, when we use the fake identity. And it is greyed out, when we type a valid mail address as a destination mail address.
But when we use the other (fully functional, real) identity, everything is working fine.
We don't have another addons installed.
The problem exists since we have updated Thunderbird to version 38.0.1 Everything worked correctly before.
Thank you in advance for your timely response in this matter.
Best regards,
Bence

I've the same issue as Paul Cobb: My send button is grayed out.
After disabling this addon all works fine again.
Would be great to use this addon again with the latest TB.
Thanks

Since new version & latest version of Corrent Identity
Send button on new emails is greyed out. Cannot send new emails.
continued ..
Thanks for the response.
With only correct identity enabled:
on new email the send button is greyed out even with valid address in the 'to' field.
The same issue exists with 'forward' emails.
I am using windows 7 64bit
Thunderbird 38.0.1
Correct identity 1.4.4
Thanks,
Paul

On the latest Thunderbird (38.0.1) it does not work properly. You can't select any account in the settings (the drop-down selector is empty).

Great job! Works fine on Thunderbird 31.
I would like to suggest to also implement in the future a simple rule:
-------------------------------------
E-mails received at xxx@mailserver.xxx.com replay with identity xxx@xxx.com
-------------------------------------
That will be helpful for users using servers that in some situations generate a "ghost" e-mail by adding a subdomain. I have this problem right now; anyhow you extensions is helping me with this.

The addin worked great with TB 33.x, but has no function in TB 37 or the nighty 38.x. In the options I can choose or set nothing.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.3).Well, that's why it says "Works with Thunderbird 1.0 - 31.*" on the Mozilla Addons website. However, I will obviously look into this when its generally available...

Great Addon. I recently switched to Postbox and altough this extension can be installed it breaks the reply-to-all function. Could you please have a look at it?

Unfortunately, the standard identity when COMPOSING can only be set based on Account, not based on Folder.

I've used this add-on for many years, but sadly that last version that worked in Thunderbird 2.0.0.24, which I'm still usingm, was Correct Identity v1.3.5 -- v1.3.6 on no longer function. After I noticed it quit working and went to check how its Options were set, only to discover that it wasn't detecting any of my email accounts or my default identity anymore -- which renders it useless. It appears that something in the 1.3.6 update that broke compatibility with TB 2.
Very sad, as it was an extremely useful tool for managing email from multiple accounts...

I've downloaded this add on to automatically reply from the correct posteo-alias. This doesn't work. Besides the posteo address I'm using a googlemail address. Here replying from the correct e-mail-address works - but it also works without this addon... I've activated the option in the settings and I'm not using any other add on. What might have gone wrong?
I know it doesn't belong here, but I've got this question. Sorry if I'm too blind to find a way to contact the developer on this page...
I'm sorry to hear this. Did you open the options of the addon and enable the 'attempt to find and use an identity that appear in its recipient list' checkbox for each of your mail accounts? Furthermore on the detection tab you can enable/disable detection for each identity individually. If the addon still doesn't work please disable all your other addons one by one to see if these are interfering. Hope this may help, otherwise please send me an email.

Doesn't seem to change a thing. My replies still want to go out on different accounts. Using Thunderbird 31.1.0
*******
The selection tab is set to use the default identity of the account, and the box is checked for "When replying a message". If I click other accounts, it remains checked. If I am the sole recipient of a message in my default email account, it is responding with a different account. Similarly on the Detection tab, the box is checked and shows up as such for every account.
*******
What I just noticed is the replies that switch accounts don't show a recipient (bcc) but I only correspond (daily) with this person on only the default account. The end result is exactly the same with or without this addon; bcc emails switch accounts, named ones do not. Hope this helps you find a fix!

I have used this a long time, sometimes it works fine, sometimes not.
Recently I found that using the "reply list" somehow bypassed this.
I also recently found that I should put my own criteria into this, my oversight.
Apart from that it is really useful.

This add-on solves (so far, all) the problems associated with multiple accounts and the accidental usage of the wrong FROM address when sending or replying to emails. It took me a while to find this on the web but it was well worth the search and I am now much more confident that I will not send a work message from my private account and vise-versa again. Thanks Dennis for an excellent add-on

If you want to use multiple aliases, then this is the extension to go with. I have never looked into other extension because this one treats my multiple Gmail addresses just extremely well. Thank you for maintaining this extension!

I have installed the plugin, set up the rules. Still the default identity is taken when replying to an email. It seems that the plugin has no effect. Maybe this is not the plugin but the new TB bug 933555?
