I used to use spell check but that doesn't work on FF10.0.01, this does however! So I'll be using it from now on.

This spellchecker stopped working after Thunderbird upgraded itself to 9.0.1. I found in Tools/Add-ons/Extensions that it was disabled. I just re-enabled it, and it started working again.

I just updated to Firefox 9.0.1. And en-US spellchecker stopped working. Some other languages do work, just not this one. Thank u FF for ruining yet another day with your pointless updates.

I love having a spellchecker! BUT, there is a problem which drives me mad - every now and then, usually when I've just finished writing a long email, the spellchecker freezes Thunderbird completely. I have no option but to restart, and then of course the email is lost. Every update i hope this will be fixed - but no. It did it again yesterday. Has anyone a work-around? Please?
And by the way, I see no way to post a bug report for this problem, and it doesn't seem to have been updated since 2010. Is there no other spellchecker around? It is such an essential part of writing emails!

This is one of the most awesome add-ons for Firefox; unfortunately I have encountered a compatibly issues with Firefox 6 after installation. It works fine when I installed it but after restarting Firefox the add-on is no longer working. Here I am copying back and forth with MS office in order to make use I don’t have any spelling mistakes in my writings. Please resolve the compatibility issue for Firefox 6. Thank you guys for the great effort on your work. Keep up the good work

I cannot give this a rating right now as it does not work on my machine. I use this on my laptop and have no problems with it. Windows 7 64 bit, Firefox 6, has not worked in Firefox 5 either. Spell checking as I type turned on. Red underline shows up in text boxes under misspelled words. No suggestions offered. Under Languages in context menu, only see "Add dictionaries...", English/United States does not show up. Dictionary installed from this page. Removed and installed again. Does not show up. Listed in Add Ons window. This sucks, it means that the dictionary will tease me with red lines and never help with spelling. Firefox is convinced that I do not have a dictionary installed even though it is there and will therefore, not use the installed dictionary. What do do?
This is working on Windows 7 32 bit Firefox 5 laptop so good I will give it 5 stars as a most often used plugin. Too bad that I cannot use it. Laptop shows an installed US/English dictionary. Desktop won't acknowledge it. Shame.

I found the dictionary does not contain a comprehensive word listing. Constantly adding words, adjectives, adverbs, etc..

I know I shouldn't post support questions here, but I can't find the appropiate forum inside mozillaZine nor mozillaitalia.
I just want to warn author about the max version for SeaMonkey being set for 2.1b2, while 2.1b3 is already launched. The max version for SeaMonkey in Mozilla Addons is now set to 2.2a1pre. Could you update the max versions for the addon, please? Thanks a lot.

I have used this FREE add-on for years, and truly appreciate all the work put into it by the developer. It is not perfect, but I benefit by it every day.
It is amazing that people give one star ratings for:
*Not understanding how to use an add-on.
*The developer not updating as fast as they would like.
*The fact that the developer is not a native English speaker.
*The fact that the developer hasn't created similar add-ons for all the languages of Earth.
*Stupidest of all: Thinking that it is a dictionary!
Sometimes it seems like the better an add-on is, the more it attracts those with an ugly sense of entitlement.
