ThunderBrowse was an exceptionally useful add-on for Thunderbird, however neither this version nor v 3.7 that awaits review by Mozzila work with TB5.If ThunderBrowse is enabled no email message appears in the message pane. ThunderBrowse options can be selected but not actually implemented; only "Cancel" works on the Options window that opens. Please update this add-on to be fully compatible with TB5.Windows XP Pro SP3 • Firefox 5 • Thunderbird 5
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.3.5).Why don't you try 3.8? It should fix these problems.

A very useful add on but alas does not work on TB5. It would be great if you could compatible with TB5

This is one of them best Thunderbird-Add-ons! Unfortunately it does not work with Tunderbird 5.0 yet.
For example reading News-Feeds is so much more comfortable with Thunderbrowse.
I hope that it works with TB 5 as soon as possible.
When I started using Thunderbird I was not sure if it is better than Outlook. But extending Thunderbird with Thunder browse makes Thunderbird so much better! In my opinion Thunderbrowse should be integrated in Thunderbird by default.

after trying this add-on and finding it wasn't suitable, I removed it, only to find a Thunderbrowse splash screen littering my folders. No surprise that it isn't documented anywhere, and obviously no mention of how to get rid of it.
Mozilla should clamp down on add-ons that do this - what other undocumented and unwanted things has it done to my system? As far as I am concerned this is MALWARE.
That's the start page for the browser (for clarity, ThunderBrowse adds a startpage because it's a browser). It says in the FAQ how to change the page if you would like and in the wizard there is a checkbox that says "Use ThunderBrowse startpage?" and proceeds to explain what it does.

I went from not being able to open a link in an external browser (Firefox) to having every single gif open as a tab. I should note I had to add a string in Thunderbird config (network.protocol-handler.external.http;true) to get the external browser to open, but between the two something isn't right.

When it was decided to split Mozilla apart into Firefox and Thunderbird, some of the Mozilla developers thought this was a bad idea. They formed a group that took over development of the old Mozilla comm suite, and re-branded it as SeaMonkey. As in the Mozilla (and Netscape) of old, the web browser, news/email client, and HTML editor in SeaMonkey are integrated into one app, where they all share the same Gecko rendering engine and other resources. There is no need to "launch" a separate web browser to follow a link in an email, because the browser is already there in the same app, and already running.
The existence and popularity of ThunderBrowse argues powerfully that the SeaMonkey developers were right. If you find yourself running both Firefox and Thunderbird constantly, and wanting to resort to an add-on like this so that you don't have to, maybe the answer is to install SeaMonkey instead, and to be grateful that someone had the foresight to keep the old Mozilla comm suite alive.

Where can i get 3.3.2 to go back to this version ? I hate to do doubleclick on each single mail (while using 3.3.3) to be able to read whats written in it ! 3.3.2 did fine. Only deaktivate or deinstall 3.3.3 helps me out at the moment :-(
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.3.3).It's a bug in 3.3.3 that breaks the NM version of TB3 tabs. The workarounds are to not use TB3[NM] tabs, downgrade or install 3.3.4 (which fixes this bug) https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/5373/versions/3.3.4

Just upgraded ThunderBrowse to 3.3.3 and it has caused tb to not open any of my emails other than when i double click on them. I disabled all my add-on's and even with ThunderBrowse as the only add-on, it creates the same problem for me. I work on a computer that has Windows 7. Loved this add on, but have to disable it until it's fixed.

I just upgrade ThunderBrowse to version 3.3.3 and when I choose TB3 [NM] option, my message didn't appear in my messagepane except I double click it (it open new tab). When I choose TB3 option, my message did appear in my messagepane but there is Thunderbrowse address bar there. How to hide it?

ok. cool stuff. i found the way... the file "cert_override.txt" in the firefox profile dir contains the user-generated certificate-exceptions. so i simply copied this file to the thunderbird profile dir. :-)

Would be nice to have option > Links ... to open ALL links in external browser, rather than a CTL+ Click to open Links.

Embedded flash files and videos in websites stopped working after upgrading to TB 3.1. Latest flash plugin installed. Is there a way to fix this?
Thank you
There's an FAQ topic about this (the FAQ has been updated with new content and better answers), so check that and try it.

Does not work in Postbox Express as advertised.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.3.1).It only works in Postbox Pro. Express has missing interfaces that ThunderBrowse needs (or so I heard [I only have Pro on my test machines]).

If you have problems with versions 3.3 and 3.3.1b1, try versions 3.3.1b2 or 3.3.1.

Earlier version worked...okay-- but there never was a "save settings" button in mine, so it could not be stopped from popping up annoying yes/no box.
This latest thunderbrowse update doesn't work at all. I have deleted it. Nice idea, but as yet, no, not recommended.
What version of Thunderbird do you use? Have you tried 3.3.1 beta 2, yet? If you use Thunderbird 2, that version will fix your problems. Feel free to contact support if you have any questions.

Versions 3.3 and 3.31b1 don't work in my Thunderbird. When I try to open the extension's options, I got the error message: "XUL syntax analyses error: undefined entity in chrome://tbrowse/content/tbrowsesettings.xul
Line 50, Symbol 14:
&settings.tooltip.contenttabs;".
The & sign is marked as wrong.
They are malformed. Install beta 2 for 3.3.1, it will fix your issue.

Best Tb extension. 3.3 working perfectly with Tb 3.1. Great for viewing RSS feeds and links in Tb. Thank You for the update.

This extension doesn't work for me. The "Saving your Settings" notice just hangs. When I X out of it looks like it's installed, but links don't even open when I click on them.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.2.8.1).The beta should fix your problems: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/5373/versions/3.3.1b2
