This is a very good and very useful extension.\r\nIt would, however, be perfect, if i would be able to access my Google Calendar when i am working offline also.\r\nDo you have any plans for offline use of this extension?\r\n\r\n\r\n

Thank you very much for this excellent plugin! I use it together with Niko Berger's Sync Kolab plugin to sync both my agenda and my contacts between my home and work computers and my laptop. The only thing that would complete my digital life is the possibility to sync everything to a phone. Thanks again! :)

Good intentions with this extension but not working with ThunderbirdPortable + Lightning extension. :(
I hope it will work in the future because is a really good extension!

This plug-in mostly works as advertised (although I did encounter a few nuances). If you are a casual user this is the quick-n-easy way to go.
However, if you are okay with getting your hands a bit dirty, GCALDaemon offers a much more robust solution. I use it to synchronize my Google Calendars locally to Thunderbird/Lightning simultaneously with Evolution (this way my daily events show under the Date/Time applet when I click on it for super-quick viewing).

This is the offline access I have been waiting for. Thanks.

I just wish I could view my colleagues free/busy time using my own Gmail login! None of our calendars are public you see.
Anyway, great idea and makes it easier to leave behind Outlook et al.

If someone else shares a calendar for viewing only, you still require a password. I would still like to be able to view (if i can\'t edit) this calendar like I can with Goggle Calendar\r\nBut great otherwise
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.3.1).If you do not require editing but would like to view public calendars, you can use the iCalendar/ICS provider and use the ICAL feed from Google Calendar.
The provider is centered on calendars that you require editing on. If you have edit access, and would like to edit a different person's calendar, all you need to do is add their calendar URL to your client, still using *your* password.

This add-on works flawlessly! Now I just need something to link to my Exchange calendar ;)

This should be part of the default install for sunbird - not an add-on.
Three things - I know that tasks are unsupported in google calendar, so when creating a task, it should not be possible to add it to a google-linked calendar.
Two (the major thing) - it doesn't cache the data, so things can be very slow.
Three, on some calendars, I'd want default privacy to be public, on others, private - this seems to be a global, not a per-calendar setting.
These are minor quibbles, very well done - let's see this in the trunk!
When using a 0.8pre (or later) version of Calendar, together with a nightly of the Provier for Google Calendar, both of your issues are solved.
bug 409249 - Creating Tasks should return an error
bug 379029 - API to reflect provider capabilities
These patches will be contained in the upcoming version 0.4 of the Provider for Google Calendar.

Been wanting for a tool like this for a while now. Illustrated instructions are here. Not sure why the URL isn't publicized more.

I have never posted here. I love this thing. If repeat could work (I have no idea if it's possible) I could die happy. Thank you.

If you use Google calendar and Thunderbird, this is a must have.
It's too bad Google calendar doesn't support tasks. That would have been handy.

My only complaint is the lag time. I wish this plug in did a look ahead cache to help speed up the calendar.

This extension helps me to have my calendar sync across my desktop, Internet. I use it with "Automatic Export" to keep in sync with my iPod, too. Very cool. Thank you for creating it!

This took time and required patience, but oh man, the end result was worthwhile. This plugin (add-on) rocks. It IS bidirectional, and it does work.
I ran into some issues, not sure how/why they got resolved, but you can read a summary here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=3134225#3134225
This is historic, I've never been able to get a web calendar to display locally before, and now I'm looking at not one, but THREE calendars (two public, plus one private)
10 out of 10 dude, this is AWESOME

This is great but what about public calendars it would be nice to be able to add the public calendars I subscribe to into lightning as well.
