This release adds filters, so you can narrow a search by date or by who sent it. Add them to any search, or use them on their own with no search words at all:

Dates

- date:2024-06 is that whole month. date:2024 is the whole year, and
date:2024-06-15 is that one day.
- date:2024-06..2024-07 covers June and July, inclusive at both ends.
- after:2024-06 starts at 1 June. before:2024-06 runs to the end of 30 June.

One rule covers all of it: a date means the whole period you named, and after:
starts at its beginning while before: runs to its end. So
"after:2024-06 before:2024-07" is June and July, and you never have to name a
month you do not want.

Senders

- from:alice and to:bob match the sender or recipient only, not the message
body. A plain search for a domain could previously match on the recipient
instead, and an address written without a display name was hard to find by
name alone. Both are fixed by these filters.

How to write dates

- Year first: 2024-06-07, or 2024/06/07.
- Or spell the month, in whatever order comes naturally: 7 july 2024,
july 7 2024, "July 7, 2024" and july 2024 all work, without quotes, in
English, German, French and Spanish.
- A date like 7/6/2024 is refused with an explanation rather than guessed at. It
means 7 June in Europe and 6 July in the United States, and a list of search
results gives you no hint that the wrong month was chosen, so you would simply
get the wrong mail and never know. Anything that cannot be understood is
reported in the results area, so a filter is never dropped in silence.

When you give an explicit date range, results inside it are ordered by relevance
rather than by the recency preference added in 0.6.0, because you have already
said which period you want.

You do not need to rebuild your index. Filters use information that was already
stored with each message, so existing indexes keep working as they are.

Version 0.5.1

- Added a "Clear index" button in Settings that removes the search index from disk, including the decrypted contents of any encrypted emails you chose to index.
- The empty search window now has a clickable "Rebuild" link to start indexing directly, instead of pointing you to Settings.
- Documentation and internal maintenance improvements.

Bug fix: resolved an issue that could prevent a search result from opening in a fallback scenario. No changes to search behavior or your index.
