This extension is still the top of its game for many years already, and an important reason to stick with Thunderbird as a mail client. As I wrote many years ago, many powerful things are possible using MailMerge, but just being able to send personalized mails to a whole mailinglist is priceless.
A few days ago I wrote that this Add-on wasn't doing well, that it was very slow, popping up many different windows when it's run, and that, together with the changes that were forced by the redesign of Thunderbird caused me to be very pessimistic about the future usefulness of this platform. But it turned out that somehow I had ticked the box "Beta" in the settings. The author of this add-on personally reached out to me by email and pointed out that this might be the case. And indeed! Without that box checked, it ran like before, quickly filling my Local Folder's Outbox with generated mails.It took less than a minute to generate some 300 mails with attachments..!
Anyone wanting to do a bit (or a lot!) of automation in sending to a list of people, this is it, highly recommended!

Excellent module, que je redécouvre bien des années après l'avoir expérimenté pour la première fois !
L'envoi de pièces jointes personnalisées fonctionne à merveille : on peut insérer une variable dans le nom du fichier à joindre pour éviter d'ajouter un champ avec les noms de fichier.
Et l'on peut même utiliser sous Windows un fichier .csv encodé en utf-8, créé par CardBook, excellent module aussi !!
N'hésitez pas à soutenir financièrement les développeurs ;-)

Super unimpressed that I went to send an email and mailmerge intercepted that and sent a recipients warning message. Not sure when this change occurred but didn't experience this "feature" until after I upgraded Thunderbird.

All I can say is ... WOW. I used all possible solutions for small mailings, both online or from other email clients, but this plugin beats them all!

Thank you for this useful add-on!
However, the date format is not kept when using variables within an xlsx file (it wasb't the case before). Ex: Lundi 05 septembre 2022 10h00 (xlsx) / Monday 5 september 10h00 (Mail Merge).
How can I fix this?

Hello, the settings seen in the link below are my settings. In the previous version, once I sent with these settings in the mail merge application, it was saved. These settings were coming automatically for the next submission. I can't do this right now. Could you help?

Use the buttons "Load" / "Reset" / "Save" at the bottom of the Mail Merge Dialog to load, reset and save the settings.

Hello and thank you for this excellent module.
I had to search a little bit how to proceed with the personalized attachments, but now I understood ;-)
I would like to submit two proposals for evolution.
1.) Would it be possible, in a future version of the module, to save the type of data file and its full path, in addition to the information about the attachments?
2.) It would be useful to be able to name the configuration that is saved so that it can be found later and so that several merge models can be kept. Currently, if you save, you overwrite the previous one.
(The ideal would be to be able to link a configuration to the mail template generated by Mailmerge, of course...)

MailMerge is improving each time ! However, since last time I used it with personnalized attachments, I moved to MacOS. I can't find the way to give the right path to the files and have it attached to the mails generated

Prior to 9.0.5 the attachment function was much more comfortable. Chosing the individual files is an (for the user) unnessecary additional step...
