As others have said, it's quite bizarre that TB doesn't include this feature as part of the core.

However, if they now added it, they couldn't do it any better than this addon.

An amazing little add-on that does what it says and does it well. Adds a much needed feature to Thunderbird. Dev was helpful and quick response to initial installation problem I had which was actually my own fault. Add-on installs well and I highly recommend it.

I'm not able to contribute via Paypal. I have the same problem as written by Pheckphul in the Mozilla forum. ( https://discourse.mozilla-community.org/t/cant-contribute-to-an-add-on-developer/5786 )

On start, somehow I shifted one folder to a different location and then that was it. I wish it would work.....

I've used this both for reordering the accounts, and for reordering the Local folders, and both work great.

I've been waiting for Thunderbird to include an option like this for years. This addon allowed me to easily move the email folders into the exact order I wanted w/o any issue at all. I didn't try the sort feature because I wanted more control. I finally have my folders organized. Thank you SO MUCH for giving me this option.

It's pathetic that an add-on is even required. Any email client that doesn't allow you to short the accounts is batsh*t. And then this add-on doesn't work anyway. Don't know why I bother with Mozilla in any way at all. Hopeless. I give this 1 star only because I'm unable to give a 0. Using latest version of Thunderbird.

very handy when it works, but only works for a few of my accounts. For the others, the app shows the folders sorted how I want them, but even after refreshing, the folder pane is unchanged.

Great Add-on.

I also managed to get local Folders back to the top.
Tab: Sort accounts > changed option First account in the folder pane from "First RSS or Mail account in the list" to the changed Local folder name.

Downloaded this to get "local folders" folder back to the top after moving Thunderbird to laptop. All email accounts above local folders except the one that feeds it's inbox. Have tried renaming "Local folders" but no help...still at bottom. If anyone has solved this please reply. Thanks
The developer replied that local folders at the bottom is a Thunderbird standard...I'm sure he knows more than I, but prior to updating Tbird on this laptop, my local folders have always been at the top.

It's an inner limitation of Thunderbird, and I even think that's mentioned somewhere in the user interface ("Local Folders has to be at the bottom")

Finding a replacement for a dead add-on *cough*cough*Folderpane-Tool*cough* is always a joy, especially when it works.

Funktioniert soweit einwandfrei. Nur, wenn man TB mit ein oder mehreren geöffneten Tabs beendet, startet TB beim Neustart nicht mit dem eingestellten Ordner, sondern mit dem zuletzt aktiven Tab. Könnte man da vielleicht noch etwas dran schrauben, sodass TB immer mit dem in den Einstellungen von MSF eingestellten Ordner als aktiver gestartet wird?
