Works perfect!
You can even include a link to the message in the note title.

like this:
link: [original mail](thunderURL://{{headerMessageId}})

you just need to create a handler for "thunderURL",
which has to open thunderbird mid:<id>

Which can be done by apple script and
some lines added to its Contents/Info.plist

Joplin Export is a very helpful tool!
