Up until now I've been saving the email as a file, editing the file, opening it in TBird, and copying to my inbox. Tedious, but it works. EES is much better. My only criticism is that it seems to ALWAYS generate the folder EES-Temp, even when I've elected to not store a copy. I'd like to have control over that.

Very handy and useful to keep email headers 'in order' or sensible. A good add on to have and to manage your email headers!

Great product, indispensible when having mulitple mail accounts and to segregate mail by subject.
Worked flawlessly until my Ubuntu 18.04 unexpectedly (apt-upgrade) migrated Thunderbird to version 115.18.0.
It perform beautifully without any problem and without duplications when executed from the All-Folders viewmode.
The Add-On does not work properly work if launched within Combined Unified Folders viewmode (where Inbox/Sent/Trash of accounts is combined to single view).
In this case the mail is duplicated as renamed to the new subject. ThereAfter both the original and renamed-duplicate mail can renamed without further issues.
Perhaps there's an internal conflict/acccess on/in folder-view mode.

It would be great if the originators of this addon could get it working properly again.

It sort-of works, but...1. It takes a long time to work, and the dialog doesn't close itself. 2. You end up with TWO COPIES of the email, the original, and the one with the new Subject. 3. It does NOT move the original email into your LOCAL folders
So I do a multistep workaround, because yes, it's INDISPENSABLE.
1. Set it running
2. go to EEs folder (which for me is in a different account!)
3. move new version to desired folder
4. stop the running change (because it will NEVER stop by itself
5. delete the original

Super wichtiges Werkzeug um viele gleichlautende Mails, zum Beispiel den Einlieferungsbelegt der DHL Packstation, mit einem sinnvollen Betreff zu versehen, zum Beispiel dem Inhalt des Paketes. Warum kann das Thunderbird nicht selbst? Das kann sogar Outlook inzwischen.

I really like this addon. Does what it is designed to do. With Version 128.8.0esr of Thunderbird, however it just stopped working. I hope the developer monitors these reviews and I hope he issues an updated version of the addon. I literally use it every day.

It was 5 stars and indispensable but it's stopped working. Is it still supported and if so how do I get it working again? Or is it dead?

It works very well and has become essential for me, because a lot of people misuse email and especially the subject: they give appointments without giving the date in the subject, or they change the subject of discussion without changing the subject of the message. I think it's now possible to change the subject of the message several times, whereas in the old versions there was a warning message saying that this might create a problem.
It was enough when version 6.1 created a copy of the original message in the same folder, I understand the annoyance of people who don't understand the EES-Temp folder.

Great when it works, but about 50% of the time once I change the subject line a big "x"pops displays on my screen, saying the editing failed. Often times though, if I close Thurnderbird and re-open it , the editing actually worked. Developers please fix this issue since I really need/like this add-on and would like to continue using it. Reading through the reviews here, it looks like others are having the same issue.

Nach dem Update auf Thunderbird 128.3.3esr öffnet sich das Addon ergänzender Text kann eingegeben werden, dann nur noch Sanduhr und bleibt hängen.
Beim abrechen folgende Meldung: Diese Seite bittet um Bestätigung, dass Sie die Seite verlassen möchten - von Ihnen eingegebene Informationen werden unter Umständen nicht gespeichert. Hat mit ES-Temp Berechtigungen zu tun. Habe Workaround gefunden.

Very good, thank you. Still, would like to have an ability to hide the EES folder. I am not using this folder and it bothers me to see this useless item before my eyes all the time. Thanks again.

A module I've been enjoying for a long time, to correct carelessness on email subjects.
But this function is no longer available on Thunderbird versions 116 and later. What a shame!

Works absolutely perfectly for me. Thanks ! - its is really useful and I wouldn't be without it.
I only use local folders, no imap. Thunderbird ver 115.2.3
What I would really like to see is
- a button for the top menu bar instead of having to right click.
- a way to hide the EES-Temp folder as I dont use it and have the settings to NOT back up email into the local folder EES-Temp
