The digital clock 'shadow' can be eliminated in the color options. You can change the color of the 'shadow' to the background color or reduce the opacity

Works fine, but it doesn't automatically show up -- you have to right click on the toolbar, select customize, and pull it where you want it. I could also do without the digital clock 'shadow.' It's really only visible on one number, but it makes it a little harder to read than it needs to be.
