I'd really love to try this add-on, but any add-on that requires unrestricted access to Thunderbird and my computer to just nor secure.
Come on guys, let's get with modern secure times...

This is a well crafted addon and does exactly what is needed. One recommendation would be to allow for renaming the button text - Toggle Folder Pane is a little long for a button. If you can add that as a setting this would be a 5 star addon!

I was able to install version 1.5 into Thunderbird 6.0.1 today. Just extract the files, and modify the install.rdf file. I set the maxVersion to 7.0, and set the version to 1.5.W (for Wilbur!). Replace the install.rdf file in the .xpi package and install. Initial tests show it is working as expected!

This has been a great extension that I use regularly. Currently it is not available in TB6, and I am really missing it! Great addition!

I had some issues with this add-on, but the alternate worked. Specifically, I was trying to exclude the sent folder. There was an option to exclude it here, but the add-on did not respect that setting.
Installed the alternate, and that worked.
Don't waste you time with this version the options in the Alternate are much better.

Google Contacts

I got it working, but it does lack any control over the process. The addon creates a new address book for each google account. I copied all my contacts into this address book and they did sync with Google. The only problem is that the addresses were truncated into only the first line of the address.
It seems that Zindus might be a more developed addon, which I will try next.
