People don't pay much attention to how something works, do they? The point of the add-on is to
Dave_B_H:
"Using the X button only closes the window, and the program continues to run in the background, hidden. For those of us who use a pre-processing program, completely exiting is a must, or Thunderbird grabs the mail before it is processed."
My case
I using Exit Button Thunderbird 0.5, then TB only closes the window, and the program continues to run in the background, hidden.
Only Task Manager can stop it.
