I'm using a Thunderbird 52.0b2.
A beta version of Lightnings ( 5.4b1 ) is supposed to be available for my version of Thunderbird (see : https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Calendar/Calendar_Versions )
But it's a mystery where to load it...
