I really like your extensions, but it's not compatible with version 78.9. Could you update it so it works again? thank you

Essential addon, which I also donated for. Unfortunately it doesn't work with current versions of TB. Hopefully there will soon be an update.

very nice plugin, i would appreciate it if you update it. Note: I'm very tired of thunderbird leaving plugins disabled on every update, it makes the developer and user bored (I'm writing with google translate)

I have donated Mr. Wang. Hope he will continue the development. The described workaround worked for me. Thank you for all contributed..

Copy pasting the from the github page:
User uasenn has provided the following solution and it works for me too.
1.4 rc1 works for me after update.
Here (not so obvious but worked) steps to fix v68 compatibility issue:
Download gmailui-1.4-tb.xpi
(optionally) You may patch css to avoid 2 Expression Searches in a single box issue. Just patch skin\overlay.css as proposed here. Hint: you can use vim to edit skin\overlay.css inside of gmailui-1.4-tb.xpi without renaming it
Uninstall (or disable) extension in TB
Install gmailui-1.4-tb.xpi using Install Add-on From File command
p.s. thanks @wangvisual for great extension

Like everyone else have had to drop back to 60.9.1 which I believe is the last version to support this ESSENTIAL add-on.
Really hope the developer is still active - have sent my $5 and now keeping fingers crossed.
For me Thunderbird is unusable without this search ability - hence the downgrade.

Unfortunately I have updated my TB to 68 and lost this extremely useful add-on. I am now moving back to TB 60 to use this add-on but request team to please update this ASAP

The only reason I regret moving to v68 is the loss of Expression Search / GMailUI. It would be really great if someone could take the time to update it.

For all interested in updating this addon, please vote in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=538821 (under the 'Details' paragraph) but please don't add any comment to the thread if you don't add further information, it's not useful and could disturb the work of thunderbird developers. Thanks!

I see a lot of people are annoyed with the incompatibility of the ES with the latest version of TB. Just a quick reminder that version 1.4 RC1 does work with TB Version 68.3.1 - see this post by Rich-R: https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/gmailui/reviews/1160074/
