Was looking for a way to stop the "make google your homepage" popup every time I did a google search. Short of not using google, the only fix I could find (and only via bing .. google evidently censored it) was to install 1st ABP and then Element Helper, then:
1. Go to the google website.
2. Go to 'Select element to hide' from the ABP menu (Ctrl+Shift+F3 [Windows]), then hover your mouse over the whole offensive google popup, so that it's surrounded by a red outline, and click (L mouse).
3. In the 'Compose element hiding rule' window, click the 'Add element hiding rule' button.
Worked a charm! Clicking 'no' on the google popup for most users does not work. It just keeps coming back.
