Simple search plugin works as advertised.
For people that are more interested in the function of the Wayback Machine, I can recommend https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/get-archive/

I want a one-click button to open a link via archive.org, or to open the page I'm currently on via archive.org.
This doesn't do that.

What's needed is a one-click button to 'save page now' the current page with no further steps.

As well as searching archive.org as advertised, also lets you search the wayback machine (web.archive.org) if you paste in a url address, and its the only search engine plugin that can afaik.
Three others claim to, but use the wrong output syntax causing special characters to get encoded into hex values like :// into 3A2F2F etc, giving invalid address'.
And even tho theres a couple other plugins like 'Resurrect Pages' that can lookup wayback machine of dead pages, they cant if it gets redirected, so a search engine plugins more useful
