MailCheck helps prevent accidental email leaks by checking recipient domains before a message is sent.
When composing an email, MailCheck examines all recipient addresses (To, CC, and BCC) and compares their domains against a configurable whitelist and block list.
If external recipients are detected, MailCheck can warn the user before sending.
Features
• Warn when sending email to domains outside your trusted whitelist
• Or, warn when sending email to domains that are specifically blacklisted
• Check all recipients including To, CC, and BCC
• Fully configurable domain rules
• Lightweight and privacy-friendly - all checks happen locally in Thunderbird.
MailCheck is useful for preventing accidental disclosure of sensitive information, sending to the wrong recipient, or replying to external threads without noticing.
Privacy & Continuity
This app is completely local. I wrote MailCheck for my own use, and decided to make it available to others for use - so it's going to continue to be supported. HOWEVER this also means it's only been tested on Fedora 43 with Thunderbird 147, so no guarantees that it'll work elsewhere!
