I'd like to install this add on but the current version of TB is 45+. Are there any plans to update, please?
It used to be that Mozilla helps us addon developers by auto-updating the compatibility version info automatically after some automated testing. They don't seem to do that any more. I cannot say for sure if/how it will work on the very latest TB 45. But I have used it on EarlyBird 45 for a long time. I do NOT expect to be updating my addons in the future. Mozilla has just made it all too painful.

very useful to manage adresse books and especially new adresses. To prevent to have twice the same adress : oftenly before to choose the right adresse book, the new adress is registered either the personal book or the collected book, then the new adress is pasted and not moved unfortunately in the book you decide, too late... Too many operations and time spent for a so simple fonction. With Thunderplunger : one right-click and it's clear, it's done !

There are some nice features here for folks who don't mind taking the time to manage their email client. It's like remembering to change the oil in your car, it just needs to be done on occasion - especially if you've got emails going back more than a decade.
I especially like the ability to check for bad email addresses in the address book. Unfortunately if you have a large number of email addresses you'll get greylisted pretty quickly and that makes checking your list useless after a point. If ThunderPlunger had a feature where you could check a selected block of accounts at a time, it would be more manageable and certainly more useful to me.

Absolute Superb Addon! Thank you. Would it be possible to add a configuration settings (in configuration editor or otherwise) to ensure vacuum / startup jobs (i.e. sqlite vacuuming) do not give confirmation prompts (default to yes) please? That would be very very useful - I can leave the vacuuming on without having to select 'yes' multiple times when I start thunderbird.

This add-on is extremely useful - especially now that you can copy the results to the console. The only problem is trying to validate addresses which are greylisting - is there any way to do so?
Questa recensione riguarda una versione precedente (2.9.3) del componente aggiuntivo. You can drop me an email by clicking on my name on the ThunderPlunger page here. Please do so and we can discuss what is happening. I may have been thinking about this already due to another user's comments.

Although I only used the email verification - it's awesome, because this is so necessary for all address books on this planet! Sure it's not 100%, but I randomly cross-checked it and had great results! On big drawback with this great tool is though that you can't sort for columns when using the bulk email verifier - would be great if you could add that functionality! That way it's easier to double check the invalid emails or just remove the checkmark on delete when it's just a greylisting or a valid address! Thanks!
Questa recensione riguarda una versione precedente (2.9.2) del componente aggiuntivo.Click my name on the addon's page to get at my email address. I wonder if it isn't enough simply to sort the results prior to presentation rather than having the user trigger this interactively. Would like your opinion and to beta test the results. Thanks

This extension gives the user what might be the easiest way to compress the SQLite files, which really can improve TB's speed.
<br>There's currently a misleading bug with a function that warns the user of large folder sizes (default 200mb). There's no indication that the warning is caused by this extension, but rather it looks like a core feature of TB. Would have filed it as a bug on Mozdev, but can't.

Edited review, based in the amazingly fast response from the dev! Wow!
You are certainly correct about the problem with the dialog's title not being clear enough. This is remedied in version 2.8 which is available on this site. However, automatic downloads of the new version are not happening correctly at this time. I am looking into that. Meanwhile, find and download version 2.8 or higher by clicking the version information link at the bottom of the addon's page then click the complete version history link that is shown below that. Enjoy!

It works and it works well! Sometimes tech is like owning a car. Every now and then you have to get the oil changed for it to work properly...

In thunderbird 5 on XP:
The memory usage jumped from 120K to 240 K using this extension. Please fix.
Thanks for your note. Please file a bug on this using the bug reporting system on the addon's website. That way we can carry on a conversation and I can get more details.
PS - on my XP/TB5 machine Task Manager shows, just after TB start up 76,236K with the addon enabled and 67,084K with it disabled. So something is (a) making your TB install considerably larger than mine to begin with and (b) ThunderPlunger itself is unlikely to be the sole culprit here. So please file a bug report or send email (click on my name on the addon's page to do so) and we can explore the situation in more depth. This is just not the place to do it.

Could you please add IMAP accounts support to "Clean Accounts" option? Thanks for your work
EDIT: oops, I found it and it works... sorry!

I was wondering how much work would be involved to enhance the "Clean Accounts" processing to also check the Thunderbird PREFS.JS file for orphaned mail.identity.idX and mail.server.serverX entries.
When I look at my Thunderbird PREFS.JS file there are more entries than I have email accounts. I have removed some email accounts and servers over the years.
Thanks

THANKS A LOT INDEED !
The horrible automatic account creation wizard in TB3 has made a really big mess in my accounts. I've managed to clean everything using the configuration editor to reinitiate every new entry and to clean with your addon. THANK YOU AGAIN !

Great extension but incompatible with TB 3xx
What's up mate?
Did you give up?
Sorry for the delay. Not my highest priority in life. But it is now working and offers a new TB3-specific function. Check it out!

This was a really useful add-on until TB 3.0 came out. Only giving it two stars because it hasn't been upgraded in over a year. I hope we'll get an upgrade soon. Thanks!

Just for the paranoic: The "Validate Email Addresses" can still harvest email adresses (or anyone inbetween, should the connection not be properly encrypted). Only because he claims that some specific PHP code runs on the server, it doesn't mean it has to run there.
Other than that: Great Add-On.
