It doesn´t work with the last version of Mozilla Thunderbird.

It does exactly what is must do, insert an equation in an e-mail. Earlier reviews mention the image being stored on an external server. I see the image UUEncoded embedded in my mail. So IMHO there is no server involved and the image is part of both the sent and the received mail forever.
Installation was easy. I had both Latex and Imagemagick installed. They were autodetected without a problem. I only had to add the LatexIt! button to my toolbar manually. It would have been easier if the installer had taken care of this as well.
The one bog advantage of this add-on is that the addressee doesn't have to install anything. I am just wondering if clients like Outlook don't mess up the message. I don't have Outlook and I don't know people who use Outlook _and_ recognize a mathematic formula.

I tried this and it appears very good..
.. but I do have some caveats I'd like to share:
- The images are stored on a server, and not included in the e-mail - what happens if the server dies?
- There is no option for MathML encoding (and it would be preferable if one could fallback on images if the e-mail client does not support MathML; and
- One creates a intricate equation and it defaults to small size - you increase the font size to a larger size and the size of the image stays the same unless you alter it in another editing tab.

I love this add-on. But can you also extend this add-on to firefox, so that we can insert equations into webmail, eg, gmail, hotmail, etc. Since we don't use email client all the time.

I really like this. thanks

Excellent and works very well. Have only a suggestion: it is difficult to edit an equation which has minor errors (one has to select the formula and to undo it repeatedly). Any improvements to this feature would make it even better.
An issue is that equations which do not give any error in LaTeX give some strange errors such as "Formula not parsed", while redoing it repeatedly usually is one way that I have been able to make the equations work!

Awesome. No ways to convert incoming latex code?

Great add-on. Does the job

I wish it could render to vector. That way more complicated equations can be expanded so that it becomes more clear.

If you are writing a long email, you may convert and then notice a mistake. If notice it immediately, then you can undo, but if it's later, you have to retype the whole equation.

Very useful. Besides, the author address the issues very quickly.

It would be great of you could add all possible symbols or sentences that can be converted. E.g. it does not work for \hat H \Psi = \left[{\hat T}+{\hat V}+{\hat U}\right]\Psi = \left[\sum_i^N -\frac{\hbar^2}{2m}\nabla_i^2 + \sum_i^N V(\vec r_i) + \sum_{i

A great add-on. I initially imagined such a feature should be available in auctex and emacs's mail client but I couldn't find any. I was pleasantly surprised this is available for Thunderbird.

Great work. Just a minor bug : when you convert an equation into an image within a very long email, after having click on the conversion button, the email editor goes back to the beginning of the document.

This is slightly annoying since I have then to use at each formula conversion the page slider to restart my writing at the right place.

An absolutely lovely tool. I was just thinking about writing my own when I came across this. Great. Works only in HTML composition mode, which makes sense. The images do appear in text mode when writing the email, but they can't be edited and they don't show in the email when received.

All in all, this is a big winner! Thanks Josh.

Oh, this is just great. How could I not imagine it so I found it just by accident?! Thanks a lot.
