Sorry but Mozilla closed the door to this type of modification. You can't do this with Web extensions. You're best bet is switching to Waterfox like I did.

The extension was working until Firefox 57 then they decided to blow up legacy extensions and close many possibilities for us Addons developers.

... because it will not work from Firefox 57 - they will deprecatee all XUL based addons (and this is not possible with web extensions). Only Workaround: switch to Firefox ESR release or Pale Moon.

This is exactly what I was looking for. It's not so much that I need the menu bar on top as that I don't want the menu bar between the tabs and the window. Thank you so much for this great extension!!

For die-hard Menu Bar users like me, this is a must-have extension. Once the Menu Bar is moved to the top row, the folder tabs become visually connected to their action button bars, making the UI much easier to understand and navigate. If you're a Menu Bar user, you'll see and appreciate the difference immediately.

The author was responsive and helpful when I had questions about configuring this extension.

For years I could not understand why somebody decided to move the menu below tabs in Mozilla. In Firefox there's a setting, which can set it right again. But in Thunderbird it was a nightmare... Finally I found this add on and my life is nice and easy again!
Thank you, Axel, Great job.
I had some problems with configuration, but your intensive help made me hapy during just few hours... And, by the way, If I would play a bit with the settings myself, it could probably go faster.

to contact me and resolve issues as they arise. It appears that selecting a flavor from the top fixed the issue, so we will keep that in mind for the future.

you're first! Probably noone will download it because of only four stars but it is useful to myself, just thought I share it with whoever thinks they need the menu on top.
